I beg to differ... I've seen PLENTY of Visual Novels (well, eroge, i probably would need to say...) that has better artwork than that of manga.
I'll probably have to say that while i hate the download process of VNs and the massive space they take up, they're a little more kinetic due to
1) Color
2) Voices
3) (Sometimes) Choices that the viewer makes to change the story

I'll still agree that the plot and humor isn't as sophisticated...
