I feel like this was a big "fuck you" to the people who wanted a new end.

Oh come on none of them are bad endings. Controlling the reapers seems like the best ending of them all kill 1 to save 4792374i32493274982374293 People. Like come on cut EA Some slack.

I thought people hated the ending because it didn't make sense with the rest of the series or made any sense... or something.

Seems that was because he was enlightened by that little boy that he has the 4 choices. It was an out of nowhere thing. Save the world by suiciding. BLOW THE FK OUT OF EVERYTHING AND HOPE THERE ARE STILL 2 ppl to have sex and make babies. Shoot the little fucker and do nothing and let the war continue cuz we are already use to it. or i think the last one is be one with the reapers? Idk that last one lol

5th ending, the reapers and everyone else become friends and bomb EA and destroy bioware.

If that's their way to answer to customer requests, my answer is to definitely stop being a customer.

They should really do this one.
Btw, EA and Bioware must be really damn successful to have survived that long into the future.

I actually really like that ending. Rather, it should have been there from the start since it seems like the most realistic choice.
But the fact that we still don't know for sure if everything at the end is all in Shepard's head really irks me. I guess since this is what bioware is giving us, space magic is real.

I'm just going to say that I would have been content with any of the original endings if
the relays remained intact.
Seriously this.
I'm still upset. I mean, I'm not mad at EA or Bioware, because saving the day was the most obvious thing to do in a game, and I think they knew the backlash they would get, but I don't think they knew it would have been this much of a problem. I've always been a huge mass effect fan since numero uno. But it breaks my heart to see if end the way it did. I think of it as Old Yeller, I was pissed and sad when Old Yeller died, but it's something you just get over.
If the ending made sense and everyone died, I'd be way more content than now.
Personally, I don't think Bioware had to make an alternate ending at all, they could have just said "fuck you, get over it"
You got your money's worth, so you don't really have a right to demand more.
ESPECIALLY to those who pirated the game, seriously, shut the fuck up.

In all honesty, this is one of the only endings I liked.
The other ones are still head-scratchingly stupid.
With that being said however, I thought it was ridiculous that the fans wanted different endings.
A writer reserves the right to finish his story how he or she sees fit. I mean I hated the ending of the wicker man (both of them) but I ain't launching a campaign to revise the ending..
And yes I know that bioware marketed the "It's your story, build it YOUR way" but that seemed like an unachievable goal in the first place ;-;
All I ever wanted was some closure but if it comes in the form of "DLC" I'll be glad I never purchased me3

Yeah, but no one became emotionally invested in Wicker man and no one spent 5 years of their life with Wicker man as a familiar part of it.
They marketed the ending with the promise that there would be a variety of widely different endings. Instead, there was one ending with 3 versions, in all of them:
- You die a horrible death.
- Everything you worked to build over the past three games is destroyed.
- Nothing you did as a player, none of the choices you made make any difference.
- Your crew abandons you.
- The majority of the military force of the galaxy is left stranded on earth. (The implications of how earth will be ran can be its own thread.)
- If you took the quarians, two thirds of the entire quarian race dies.
- If you took the turians, all of them who went to earth die.
- You blow up all the relays leaving everyone stranded where they were.
You basically get to make a choice on how you want to destroy the universe. And what kind of choice is synthesis? You transform every living thing in the galaxy into something else without letting them know or asking them if they want it.

I understand this, I also spent a vast majority of time Sculpting my story in this series, but what the way they chose to end it is still up to them.
It's a terrible thing they did and I can never forgive them for what they did to the series, but I will not side with those who say it is "the consumer's right" to change an artist's product.
