An American judge has banned the sale of Samsung's new Galaxy Nexus mobile phone in the United States after Apple claimed it copied some of the technology used in its iPhone.
A judge had previously banned the sale of Samsung's tablet computer. Both bans will continue until the matter is considered in court.
Apple and Samsung, the world's two largest consumer electronics corporations, are waging war through the courts of several countries, accusing each other of patent violations as they vie for supremacy in the mobile market.
The decision on Friday by judge Lucy Koh in San Jose, California, comes days after she placed a pre-trial ban on sales of Samsung's Galaxy Tab 10.1, a tablet computer that runs on Google's Android and competes with the iPad.
Apple has waged an international patent war since 2010 to limit the growth of Google's Android system, the world's most-used mobile operating platform.
Opponents of Apple say it is using patents too aggressively in a bid to stamp out competition.
Apple spokeswoman Kristin Huguet accused Samsung of copying the look and feel of its products. Samsung was not immediately available for comment.
As a condition of the injunction, Apple was ordered to post a bond of more than $95m (£60m), to cover damages sustained by Samsung should the injunction be later deemed a wrongful decision.

Copyrights are fine, but Apple is playing dirty and it's a shame that a judge actually went along with it. Apple's design patent is particularly stupid; they argued in court that they invented the form factor of "a thin device with rounded corners" or something along those lines.

This is complete bullshit.
Especially those logo's "looking like theirs" when they looked nothing like the apple logo :l

this is why I hate apple. I wish steve jobs were still alive so he could be publicly executed by an angry mob of people who don't want the entire world to be ruled by apple mobile devices.

Patent abuse, actually. In a strictly free market economy, this would be 100% impossible.
Businesses serve, are not served.

So this ban is only in America.
I can buy all the Samsung Galaxy Nexus in Canada and sell these phones to Americans at jacked up prices?
PROFIT! :skip:
