So recently got a temp comp for my lil bro, which is an old ass comp from 2003-2005. To my knowledge hes addicted to steam games like TF2 and other Source games.
Recently my connection goes to utter shit whenever hes on his old comp, but whenever he plays on the mac, my connection stays fast/same.
His comp's graphic runs off the on board video CPU and doesnt have over 1 gb of ram, do these old comps suppose to take up that much of the household connection?

Is it as soon as that PC is connected to the network and booted up?
It's possible the network adapter on that PC is on the verge of dead and is doing a packet storm on your network. If it has more than 1 port for network try switching, or use a wireless adapter on it and see if it changes anything.

I'm guessing he's using the slow 'b' WiFi, then? When that type of WiFi is active on the network, it slows down the rest of the faster network for compatibility reasons. Connect your (or his) comp via Ethernet cable to test if this is the cause.

My computer has 512MB and integrated graphcis and constantly freezes up when I have 3 or more programs running, and the connections never gets slowed down when using Wi-Fi (even if it's directly from another computer) and this computer is from 2002.
Have you tried changing the channel ( I think that's what's it called D: )?
And if that doesn't work try a USB Wi-Fi adapter and see if that solves the problem.
