I believe you should have posted this in Ferghus' Repair Shop.
So you DID update drivers? Because my old laptop had the same graphics card, and only 2 gigs of ram, and ran mabinogi. Although it had Vista, that shouldnt be a diffrence. And this computer im using now runs win7 64 bit, and mabi runs great on it. My guess would be try running it windowed, if that doesnt work, then maybe its not a graphics problem. There was something I remember doing to fix a similar problem, something about going into the program files and using HSupdate.exe or something like that, dont remember as its been a while.
And I know its possible to run on that chipset, because my laptop was almost the same, but with less ram. It ran at lowest settings and a windowed, but it still only lagged in some places with higher graphics.
You guys give better answers then the people in the tech support forum on Nexon. They used to many computer words.
Anyway, i can't get on windowed mode. I tried to do the Alt+Enter thing when it was starting up, and then eventually closed. Is there any other way to get into windowed mode before the game starts..? Don't you have to download something? I couldn't update the drivers, they said i didnt meet the requirments, i went to the Intel scanner and they told me my chipset was the type that couldn't be updated and i had to contact someone to do it..if you wan ta screen-shot i'll give it to you.
I don't see how Updating hackshield would help..but now i remember that when i try to open mabinogi, hackshield get's loaded to about an 8th way done, and after a minute or two i get the graphics error, i think it's lag though, or a glitch, i dont think it has anything to do with the game, but i guess i'll try. My friend did something to get rid of her hackshield error by using that

I think this should be in the Ferghus' Repair Shop section, but anyway.
My laptop also gives that warning and the grafix-lag is enough to make the game almost unplayable. You'd probably be better of using your laptop it use to work on. A format should get rid of the virus and you can just put a free copy of AVG anti-virus on it.
(I don't have Windows 7, so I don't know what that problem is, but I know Mabi doesn't seem to like Intel integrated grafix)
And yes, i'm going to try to make in work on my old computer, but i'd have to wait until friday because i go to my dad's house then.

can you give us the exact model of the computer that you are having problems with?

I have an inspiron and it runs mabi, albeit after the message you indicated... Let us know the model you have-- people on the thread might be right; you could have an outdated graphics card.
Well, my laptop is fairly new but, my model is an Inspiron 1545.
I don't know if this has anything to do with it but, i spilled water on this laptop a few months ago and it messed up my keyboard, i dont know if it did anything else though.
I have dxdiag and my system information up right now if you need anything else.
