What if, the music playing skill actually MAKES you play music and your perfection is based on a DJMax/ Beatmania style application?
For example, the more notes you use, the faster the song is, the faster the tempo will be and the harder the song would become.
The game will randomly merge two chords together: Like, Melody 1 and Chord 2, or Chord 1 and Chord 2, etc.
The game would program the notes to fall at the tempo speed, 255 being the max, and 60 being the slowest (Or is it 50?). And therefore if you like composing touhou music, it would be really difficult for you to get perfect for your songs.
The notes will come in different sounds:
100 ~ 70% perfection rate per note will give off a perfect tone.
70% ~ 40% perfection rate will change the note's tone to a wrong one.
40 ~ 1% perfection rate will be broken, the melody will be spoilt.
0% perfection rate will result in the note not being played.
On the other hand, by ranking Music Playing, you'll gain particular abilities per rank:
AUTO +
This will change all missed notes into 1%
HP +
This will increase the amount of notes you're allowed to miss
JUDGE +
This will decrease the judging of the notes, therefore increasing the window for you to get Perfection
DRAG
This allows you to get 100% on a long drag note, especially for flutes
Rank F - JUDGE +1 <Increases time frame by 0.1s> HP +50
Rank E - HP +60
Rank D - HP +70
Rank C - JUDGE +1 <Increases time frame to 0.15s> HP +75
Rank B - AUTO +1 <Saves 1 note> HP +80
Rank A - HP +85
Rank 9 - AUTO +1 <Saves 2 notes> JUDGE +1 <Increases time frame to 0.2s> HP +100
Rank 8 - HP +105
Rank 7 - HP +110
Rank 6 - AUTO +1 <Saves 3 notes> JUDGE +1 <Increases time frame to 0.23s> HP +130
Rank 5 - HP +135
Rank 4 - HP +140
Rank 3 - AUTO +2 <Saves 5 notes> JUDGE +1 <Increases time frame to 0.25s> HP +150
Rank 2 - HP +160
Rank 1 - DRAG <Enables note drag> JUDGE +2 <Increases time frame to 0.3s> HP +200
Master title will allow adjustable note speed: 0.5x, 1.0x, 1.5x, 2.0x, 2.5x, 3.0x, 3.5x, 4.0x, 5.0x and 7.0x
If you break, depending on your music playing rank, it will decrease your "Music HP". For Magic Music to activate, it would require at least 85% accuracy <TOTAL> and less than 5 BREAKS.
Per break, you'll lose 10HP. Per 10 notes you get in a row would enable you to recover 5 HP.
Long drags will be considered as a single note.
Of course, this would make Music Playing an interesting skill to rank.
...
Pretty much a DJMax rip off, but what if you get to play music THIS way...?
