Ok. Ever since I joined French immersion, I hated it and never liked it. But recently, my best friend just switched to English and well, I want to switch to English too. I was going to switch to English last year, but I didn't know anyone [I know them, but I can't really start a conversation with them]
So my question is, should I switch?
If I switch to English, my marks will go up from B/C's to A/B's. And it'll be easier for me to understand stuff like Science and Social Studies. But of course, I've been in French immersion for 2 years so some stuff may be confusing. And I also have some friends in English immersion.
If I stay in French immersion, my marks will probably end up going down and down, since I barely understand half of what the teacher is teaching, even though I've been in French for 2 years. I know everyone in French immersion and I can start a conversation with most of them.
I'm kinda leaning towards English immersion, cuz switching from French to English during grade 10, is going to be confusing as F*k. And I'll probably end up being the stupid one in grade 10 if I don't switch to English immersion now
And when I switch to English immersion, my friend told me that I can tell the principal that I don't know anyone and would like to be in blah blah blah class. So, I can tell them that I want to be in my best friend's class since I don't know anyone.
tl;dr Should I stay in English or French. Eng - easier, less friends. French - harder, more friends.

It kind of sounds like you've already made your choice to switch to English.
Maybe a good question to ask yourself: Do you see yourself working in a French or English environment when you're done with school?

I had the same problem in grade 5 (Lol).
All my good friends I was with from grade 1-4 went to French immersion. I tried it out and I hated it. So, I ended up going to English. I was in a mix with people I didn't know and with some who I kinda knew but wasn't really good friends with.
I ended up making lots of new friends and was still able to hang out with my friends in my other class.
If your best friend went to English, then it will be WAY easier to make friends since theres two of you. So don't worry about having no friends, you will make a lot quickly.

True... My best friend knows the whole friggin school =3= and I usually hang around him, so I guess it won't be hard to make new friends

Well, you didn't really answer my question, but~
It might be better for you overall if you switch to English.
Career-wise, math+science+english is usually more useful than french.

I'd stick with french immersion since you've already been there for two years.
But you still don't understand half of what the teacher is saying? After two years? :<
Then again, I practically have a phobia for giving up classes/hobbies etc, so you shouldn't really pay attention to me ._.

Yeah.. I do understand some, but in Science and Social Studies, I have no clue wtf they're saying.
And no, I won't go after school for extra help
I think Imma go into English immersion now, thanks for the help everyone~
Now I gotta convince my mom ;~;
