  The problem with Hug signs at cons were the smarter, non pig-disgusting girls would make signs saying, "Hugs! $5!"
  And then pig-disgusting guys would pay them for hugs.
  And then some people decided paying for physical favors at a con might be a bad thing.
  
  Alas. It was a good way to make money to buy stuff in the dealers room.

  And then the anime cons. Oh god. I thought highschool hugging was excessive but you get mauled in the cons, especially if you dress up. At this point its just a way to grope your favorite character without getting in trouble with the law. And then the ronery fags come out holding a little sign that says "FREE HUGS LIMITED TIME ONLY", but the truth is its only limited for themselves while they're still dressed as a narufag because in any other occasion they'd be the ones to pay money to be allowed to hug someone else.

  Actually, exchanging fluids or sharing airspace is faster. And doesn't even require physical contact.
