Random character upon log in?

  Hey there~
  
  So I started playing mabinogi in around 2009 and quit after a few years, but watching Sword Art Online I decided that I really missed the mabinogi feel of mmo's.
  
  So I logged in today with what I am pretty sure it the correct account info and a random character I DEFINITELY DO NOT REMEMBER MAKING showed up. I logged in about 3 times on that account, same thing. Then I logged in with an old mule account I used to have. Same character popped up. Then I entered a random username and password and the same character popped up.
  
  What's going on?
  
  Also: None of my many pets I used to have are there nor any other characters I had made. Also, I logged in last week and had no problems. Just today this started.

  I'm gonna assume someone hacked you and deleted all your characters + pets and made a new character.
  Whoever did that is a scumbag.

  I believe you can also view your character list from the mabinogi website.

  At first I thought that too... but yeah it keeps on appearing. even when I use different accounts it's the same character with the same name and everything..
  oh and I'm on Alexina btw...or was ;-;

  I had something odd happen that was somewhat similar to this, my brother attempted to log in to mabi from my computer, but even after putting his own info in, it logged into my account.

  Well, the only way that I know it's happened to me is like this:
  
  If you log in through the website first to do something (say, buy NX), you're logged in as that specific account.
  Now, if you log in though your client by opening it from the client folder, you get the option to log in again. No matter what account and password you use in this login, if you are still logged into the website, it will use the account that is logged in on the website.
  
  You didn't mention being logged into the website though, so I can't be sure. Do you maybe have an option that allows you to stay logged in no matter how long it's been?

  clear your character cache, someone probably logged into your computer at one point and played mabinogi with there account.
  
  If you log into one of those characters you say is glitched, it should all be fixed.

  Oh wow. Just launching the client from the folder and logging in that way solved everything. That was so freaky...
