This is a pokemon rant. You won't know what I'm talking about if you're not too familiar with pokemon's latest release.
So I'm doing the Battle Frontier challenges in Pokemon Heart Gold, and I made it to the 21st straight victory match, in which I face the Frontier Brain of the Battle Facility I'm facing. I already beat Palmer's first challenge with extreme ease (I OHKO'd all his pokemon. It was surprisingly amazing), however this time I make it to the 21st battle of the Battle Castle, in which the Frontier Brain is the Castle's Lady with her Butler battling for her (Because she is unable to battle for secret reasons.)
I end up losing because of terrible luck. All his attacks somehow pull critical hits and take down my Gardevoir, Tyranitar, and Vaporeon. Not to mention most of my attacks missed too. The worst part is that I successfully EV trained the 3 of them and 3 other pokemon.
I take the challenge again and reach my 19th consecutive battle. I easily dispose of the guy's first pokemon, an electubuzz, which drops my Gardevoir's Health by half, and then he sends out a Gligar. At first, I'm not too impressed by it. But then it used earthquake, and it spammed the move repeatedly. I'd like to point out some game mechanics beforehand, in which Gligar is a part Ground Type, meaning all Ground moves gain a 50% boost. Earthquake's base damage is 100, so therefore it does 150 because of Gligar's type.
I underestimate it's speed, and it uses Earthquake before I can attack and KO's my Gardevoir. So then I do the stupid thing and send out Lucario. At first I thought, "Oh crap, why'd I send out Lucario? Meh, it can probably move faster than it." So I use Aura Sphere on Gligar...rather I would have used Aura Sphere on Gligar. Somehow the Gligar was faster than my Lucario and uses Earthquake to pull out a OHKO. It would have been awesome if my Focus Band just took effect, but nooo, it didn't.
I'm forced to send out my last remaining pokemon, Tyranitar. My Tyranitar survives it's first earthquake, but with half health left. Not to mention the Gligar moved faster than my Tyranitar. My Tyranitar's attack only knocked off 2/3s of the Gligar's HP. In a last ditch effort, I decided to attack again in hopes that the Gligar wouldn't be a fag and use Earthquake like it's been doing ever since it was sent out and that at the very least I would have a slim chance of winning. I didn't get my wish, and it uses Earthquake and finishes off my Tyranitar.
I now have to start over again. FUUUUUU-.
