Steam Community will be updated with 4 new features

This is an archive of the mabination.com forums which were active from 2010 to 2018. You can not register, post or otherwise interact with the site other than browsing the content for historical purposes. The content is provided as-is, from the moment of the last backup taken of the database in 2019. Image and video embeds are disabled on purpose and represented textually since most of those links are dead.

Day 1: Game Hub

Essentially a more fleshed-out version of the Steam forum for a game, it also adds in community screenshots, videos, workshop, forum (discussion), and official news in one centralized area for that game.

It will contain personalized information like which friend of yours bought it and are playing it.

Community content (such as mods or videos) can be displayed on the hub's front page via community rating and discussion.

Day 2: Group Updates

Expanding... groups, to be similar to Game Hubs. This includes adding in a forum with admin powers.

So now clans can use Groups as a basic clan homepage, just like those free forums. No more are Steam Groups just a tag to be put on to associate with somebody, and just put up bare info and announcements.

Day 3: My Content

In your Steam profile, it will now be expanded to include contributions you've made via the Workshop, will have an image "wall" in your Screenshot collection, will now have video functions (such as replays and linking videos from Youtube), and will have another notification system where it shows off things you "favorite'd" on Steam (pictures, videos, or Workshop item).

Day 4: Friend Activity

They made the Friend list more like Facebook/Google+ now. That means status updates on your news feed that you and others can comment and rate on, and these status updates can include screenshots, videos, Workshop items, Steam purchases, etc. You can favorite these content, and rate them so they can be showed more in the Steam Community's Game Hub of the selected game.

This also means Friend list is now separate from Steam Community.

Finally, Valve opened up the new Steam Community beta, and it requires the "Pillar of the Steam Community" badge to join. 50,00 will be invited first, and each of them will gain 2 extra beta invites to share.
