Why is Lilligant called... Lilligant?

Because when I hear "Lilligant" I think of the following Pokemon.

Which is essentially the opposite. Rather than a light and polite Bellossom [S]clone[/S] Redux, I think of an angry, fat, huge, menacing alligator.

Maybe because the "gant" part makes me relate to to an alligator/crocodile?

I got the Lily part, but the gant... Maybe because the Lilli part is infront of the gant, so it sounds like some kinda alligator name?

Then again Lilligant sounds kinda similar to alligator in a way. Both have a kind of 'higher pitched' first part, Lilli and Alli are similar, and then switch to a much deeper gant/gator?

When I read Lilligant I think of "elegant". I'd never think of any sort of alligator. Even when I see the thread I can't really make it fit. I just thought it was meant to be a mesh of Lily+elegant.
