Trying to hook an xbox360 up to a monitor.

Google finds a lot of stuff and frankly I'm not sure I know enough to get through it all. I know they have an hd input on their computer but it seems to be a smaller size than the one coming out of the xbox. In addition, sound doesn't travel that way, I'm told.

The VGA cables seem like they would do the video alright, but then there's still the L/R audio cables that need to be plugged into something. Has anyone done this before, per chance?

If the monitor has a 3.5mm audio input (a lot of of them seem to now), you'll want something like this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16882196031

I assume your getting (or have) a VGA cable for the 360 (...ok I only found out it had one from Google Searching LOL).

Also, I saw a 3rd party one for half the price, quality didn't seem too promising :P

That audio converter should work fine when paired with something like this, but that one has horrible reviews and is apparently a thinly veiled scam...

Newegg doesn't have any other similar products, it seems, but I'm looking around now just to make sure.

edit: Found the microsoft one...$40 though.
