As some of you may know, I posted a similar thread on the Nexon forums. For those that don't... read on:
Summer is winding down now :c which is good/bad depending on how you look at it. Bad because School will/has start for the majority of us (I myself started Monday.... :| ) but good because I'm releasing my summer project.
I enjoy commercing on Mabi. It's a bit (ok, a lot) mind numbing at times, but I like the thrill of dodging bandits, plus you get some pretty decent rewards. It wasn't that long before I had a MASSIVE Excel workbook with pages for every town, with tables of profit information. This was large and unwieldy, and I knew there had to be a better solution.
"Wait", I thought. "I'm a programmer." Enter MabiCommerce. MabiCommerce is a fancy, smart, detailed replacement for the Excel sheets some of us use.
What are the main features of MabiCommerce?
In a nutshell, you enter the profit information into the program and press "Calculate". The program takes that data, dumps it in a pot, adds all your available transportation modes, their weight and slot capacities, their speed bonuses, as well as the distances between towns. It then presses "puree" and places the result into a nicely formatted list. This list is sorted by profit/second, so you can, at a glance, see what a particular town/item/transport combination will yield for profit.
Why profit per second? Because that allows me to factor in time between towns.
From there, you can press "Map It!", and the program will ask you how much you're going to spend on your load. It then displays a map of Erinn, with the optimal route color-coded according to what bandit levels you'll meet along the way, and where you'll meet them.
But wait, there's more!
In addition, I've set up a webserver. MabiCommerce uploads and downloads profit information. There are two benefits to this. First: you can seamlessly share commerce information with others on your server. For example, if a profit changes, only one person needs to record the changed profit, and it will be instantaneously available to everyone else.
The second benifit is that you can check reported profits from the internet. Simply point your web browser to http://rh.scottketelaar.com/MabiCommerce/
Note that all uploads are anonymous and only contain profit information. I'm not stealing your bank account information, or anything like that. If you don't believe me, you're more than welcome to review the source code of the program, or use a packet-monitor such as Wireshark to see what's being sent.
I know there will be questions and suspicions, so let me attempt to answer them now.
This sounds too good to be true! Does it require mods of some sort?
No.
Hacks?
Nope.
Does it interact with the client in any way?
Negative, commander. You can run it on a computer without Mabinogi, but for what purpose, I can't imagine. It doesn't even need administrator permissions to run.
Isn't this against the ToS?
I combed the ToS just this morning, and the only things it prohibits is hacking/modding/botting tools. MabiCommerce is none of those (or I wouldn't have posted it on the Nexon forums). It gets all its input for users, and does only calculations. It is just a fancy calculator. Strangely enough, it IS against the ToS to link to ANYTHING on Nexon's site except http://www.nexon.net. Go figure.
But what about the "Unfair Advantages" section of the ToS?
Seeing as you could reproduce the calculations in Excel, on paper, or with an Abacus, there is no unfair advantage.
Why does the installer require admin permissions?
Microsoft's installer likes to add programs to the Add/Remove programs list, that's what this is for.
Why does this look like the Mabinogi Commerce Window?
Because I styled it that way. It helps users to understand what to do, and enter data more fluidly. I can assure you that it's NOT using anything from your Mabinogi client to display itself.
Where can I get screenshots?
Here's one, and more can be found here: http://mabicommerce.codeplex.com/wikipage?title=Screenshots

Where can I download this, or get more information?
That would be here.
I don't believe you that it's non malicious:
