I bought this for my family today because bestbuy has their labor day sale going on, they had monsters inc playing on it and the color was AMAZING.
Not sure if I over payed for it, but damn I could not walk out of the store without that tv.

It's probably a decent deal if you want 3D and "smart" functionality built in, which this TV has.
51" is also pretty huge.. I thought those were more expensive, but I've never really followed TV prices, so yea. xd
EDIT: Oh and FYI, this is a plasma TV, which means it can suffer from burn-in image degradation if you for some reason leave it on for hours with an image that isn't changing. Modern plasmas are less sensitive, but it can still happen, so it's something to keep in mind. Reminds me of the guy who had an old CRT monitor and left it overnight (?) with a porn movie paused. lolol

Yeah don't buy plasmas.
They can easily burn out and thus make them utterly useless to you.

Well I think it's nice for the money. I always assumed they were a good bit more expensive at that size. I have no experience/knowledge of monitors or TVs in this size range, though.

you can grab a 73" for about 1.1k usd- 1.4k usd

That's a decent bit more expensive (30-65%) and may not necessarily be of the same quality.
It's a nice deal, and one I'd go for if I had the space/money to spend on it/a reason to watch TV, but there's a lot involved in that kinda decision.

Because I totally want to pay almost double for something 20" more
I have a plasma that I haven't had a single problem with for quite a few years.

How did you get it home

Plasma TVs are great so long as you keep in mind what I said earlier. They don't randomly "burn out" on you for no reason. They also have the advantage of having deeper blacks, compared to LCD panels.

IDK with the auto-adjuster on my LCD, shit gets dark.
