That the idea and production for the phantom job was ripped off of another source.
Phantom is a hero job which uses canes and cards for their main equipment loadout, although all skills are card based, it is a thief job none the less.
However, this class or job type was in production in KMST almost 9 ~ 10 months ago.
Now for something interesting.
A Nippon Ichi game called: Prinny 2: Dawn of Operation Panties, Dood! was released on March 25th 2010 in Japan, the main antagonist is a thief who steals rare items from demons all over the netherworld.
Now here's the interesting bit, the thief is called the "Phantom Thief" and he weilds a cane and uses card-like projectiles to attack you. When you defeat him, he takes off in his personal air-ship.

A video because there arn't any decent pics of the Phantom thief.

The Demon Slayer is a visual ripoff of Alucard from the Castlevania series.
There's probably tons of other 'references' that Nexon has made in MS.

Using the word "ripped off" just makes it sound very negative.
As long as the update is a positive to the game, to add more depth to it I'm completely ok with them taking ideas from other games and improving them. I mean isn't that what making games is about?
Also, love Disgaea series.

If you can call adding stuff to a cash-cow mule game such as maplestory "improving" I guess.
But plagiarizing ideas is why alot of people just lose respect for nexon and their contracted developers when it comes to content. It shows that they can't depend on their team and directors to think up original ideas that'll actually fit into the game so they just take a pair of scissors to everything else metaphorically speaking, and cut/paste it into their scrapbook-collection.

You are acting like a "phantom thief" type thing hasn't been made before this all. It's an old thing really and many people use it in various media actually, also Phantom isn't exactly a ripoff of that thing in the video he does actually use other things than cards if you choose to steal skills from adventurers. The stealing of other players skills has probably been done before somewhere else like most everything but, it's actually done pretty well on MapleStory.
The character Phantom in MapleStory is actually quite fun and the story was interesting compared to the crap in every heroes story else than Evan's which was nice. I could be wrong about everything so eh.

He also looks like Elatha from Mabinogi.
[S]And Mercedes looks like Andras.
Yes, that is the first thing that I noticed after those two were released.[/S]
This "Phantom Thief" and Phantom are both based off of the modern stereotypical magician/ illusionist attire and 'weapon' choice. If you're going to sue someone for copyright infringement, sue everyone.

He also looks more like Alucard than he does Elatha.
Besides even if it's Wizet and Devcat, both games are owned by Nexon so it doesn't matter if both games suddenly made references to each other; it would be a legal reference.
