Considering that I never listened to the briefings before each mission, and just used cheats in every mission, I did not know about the story, well ... at least now I know!

How is this any fun at all?
The whole point of the game is to have a challenging strategy mission.
Failure occurs multiple times before you can beat a mission, and with each run you try a new tactic. Studying the terrain, enemy patterns, etc to get your advantage. Thats the fun of the campaigns.
Not spamming POWER OVERWHELMING and OPERATION CWAL so you can lol-stare at 200 marines fighting 400 zerglings. What a waste of time.

Lol'd at mass video conferencing.
But yeah, the point of the game is that it's a strategy game that you have to challenge yourself with. Because there's no difficulty settings, if you're a complete newb to RTS or otherwise don't know what you're doing, the AI will pretty much constantly beat you relentlessly until you finally find out what tactics you should use to beat it.

The difficulty scale isn't bad.
You start off with real easy missions. And it slowly gets more difficult as it goes.
As far as I can tell, most of my friends have been able to clear the first game. But broodwar is a whole new challenge in itself.
I'm honestly stuck on the broodwar terran campaign. It just gets too damn difficult.

That suddenly explains why I was terribly rushed every time by the AI. I just skipped Starcraft and went straight to Broodwar. The first mission confused me until I realized I can make the unit I was controlling invisible and just pass everybody.

Invisible units are balanced by having horrendous health.
And a single detector makes them visible to all other units. You'd get swarmed instantly. I'm guessing you're talking about the travel mission where you control Zeratul. Use his ridiculously OP attack damage to take out buildings asap while your units themselves hold off the swarm. Usually, taking out the nydus canals will help prevent more units from flowing through.
I suggest you play the original first. One of the biggest differences between the original and broodwar is the amount of resources you're given. The mineral and gas count is MUCH lower, so turtling is impossible. You absolutely have to expand and take over enemy bases in broodwar before you run out. Very tough stuff.

well, I was 10 years old when I first played it, and didn't want to have a challenge, I just wanted to have 200 marines fight 400 zerglings!
I still have the brood war disk, but cant find the original, and the brood war disk doesn't work for some reason. if it did, I might go back and play it through without cheats.

What.
Try clearing Broodwar campaign without cheating.
I've yet to know anyone irl who could do it.
And I've been to Korea.
