How do you open a new paperback book?

  Some people, like me, like having physical copies of books that are nice, neat, and not creased.
  You could always take the time to clip the pages with a clipboard but that seems very tedious

  I hate when people dog-ear books and get them dirty, as for bent spine, I agree.

  I'm re-buying my Harry Potter set, all in hardcovers. I had 1 and 3 as paperbacks, and 2 and 4 as hardcovers, but I wasn't good at taking care of books so I need to re-buy those for sure. The 5th one got lost in Mexico (;;), the 6th is fine, and I have two copies of the 7th one because one of them is signed and it was given for free at the signing 8D; I'm scared to death of actually using the signed one for reading so that's a good thing.
  
  Hardcover Game of Thrones would be ideal. I got the smaller, thick paperbacks. So hard on the wrist. And the poor spine. ;; I need to make more money for books....

  Duude the hardcover Harry Potter set (the most common one with the colour-blocked spines) is like $220+ for all 7....
  I bought game of thrones in a set of 4 paperbacks for like $50 something...

  I bought this one for $70 ish after taxes, and it's actually gorgeous. Just too bad it's paperback.

  I just got 1-5 as a box set and bought 6 and 7 when they came out (midnight release for 7 obv).
  
  I'm cheap like that. I prefer hardcover but with paperbacks, I just try to be nice and keep them open as little as possible, or at least at the smallest angle possible.

  Wow, that's a nice price, and they do look really pretty. It really would be nice if they were hardcovers.
  I may also be biased because I find black and gold really elegant. And that box, do want.

  but the black edition is even more expensive than the regular ones hardcover and doesn't come with the box.
