  In the story, a boy named Sido (Shidō) Itsuka meets a spirit girl who has been rejected by a devastated world. The girl, who Sido names "Tohka," happens to have wiped out much of humanity 30 years ago, and now she is back. The only way to stop her is to date her.

  
  
  Another LN adaptation. Not much of it's been translated, though from the few manga chapters that have been translated, it seems to have some potential (aside from seeming rather generic). Though it looks pretty fun. Make a girl fall in love with you or she blows up the world.

  Girl with the ponytail looks like Kanzaki Kaori (A certain magical Index).
  Girl with reddish twin tail looks like Aria Holmes Kanzaki (Aria the Scarlet Ammo).
  Girl with white hair looks like Yagami Hayate (Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha A's).

  There is a general limit to how original a character can be. The more characters are created, the less the next ones can be original. Animes might be approching the limit soon..

  You're reading way too into it. The similarities between characters from different series aren't as bad as say, Akiza from Yugioh 5Ds and Kallen from Code Geass.
  
  In my opinion, a series shouldn't be judged based on originality, but rather how enjoyable / fun it is. That's not to say there's nothing wrong with originality, since most shows that do pull off something new are more often than not enjoyable.

  I watched the pre-air eye cancer, so seeing it in delicious 720p makes it that much better.
