Or does it need to install a part of itself on the computer?
Cause if it can run completely within the usb, I might be able to get away with basically bringing my computer around with me in my pocket, which would be cool.

On the downloads page - there's one called
TeamViewer Portable.
The description is as follows:
- For mobile use: TeamViewer Portable
- TeamViewer Portable can be run directly from a USB stick or a CD - the perfect solution if you are on the road.
I believe that would be perfect for what you are looking for? Try it out.~

Wouldn't you need Administrative rights? O_O
If not, please tell me how it works out. I totally would love to remotely use my computer from my school D:

Yeah, that's the second thing I was worried about, but I wanted to make sure teamviewer would even work, since my only usb device is currently being used as a memory device for my xbox, and I didn't want to delete all those saves just to see.

Hmmm.
You've inspired me to test it out myself. Let's see if it works.

As much as it is convenient, it also makes your system more vulnerable but I can't dissuade people from using it. Make sure you have good firewall and only allow ip's that you absolutely trust to connect which may be hard if you are on a dynamic ip network at which point it might be better to not do it at all rather than risk all your stuff. I wouldn't risk it anyways.

I don't know about teamviewer but logmein goes over http/https, tunneling through logmein's servers. Firewall rules on your network have no effect on it (unless you block communications to logmein servers, which defeats the point), although there is security options you can set on the host machines (and it does require knowing the windows machine's password).

Well I suppose that's a bit more secure as they still can't get in without the machine's password. As long as the system doesn't allow for anything besdies authorized logmein it should be all right. Still a bit iffy on it though.
Dislike the idea of opening my system up even a little

You should run these on a separate, locked down Windows account if you care about security. xP
I love remote desktop. <3
