Removing your content from Guru.

This is an archive of the mabination.com forums which were active from 2010 to 2018. You can not register, post or otherwise interact with the site other than browsing the content for historical purposes. The content is provided as-is, from the moment of the last backup taken of the database in 2019. Image and video embeds are disabled on purpose and represented textually since most of those links are dead.

I, like many others, have been frustrated with recent events because I cannot remove my content thanks to Itchy banning me.

For those of you who are like me - who want their content to be removed from Guru but are unable to because he disabled editing or banned you, please email him and specify which content you would like removed. You can say a specific post or ask for all of your materials to be removed, either way, he said himself he would be glad to comply:

edit: if the auther contact me and request an removal of certain article I would be glad to do so, the reason I removed editing was because people were putting up 40 font size spam with their year old post. And We do have privacy police linked from our home page footer since 2007 MabiGuru - Best Mabinogi Wiki, Forums, Guides, Fansite and more...

That being said, if you want your content removed, please email [email][email protected][/email].

I personally will be issuing a deadline per: if my content is not removed within two weeks, I will be sending a C&D to the host. His host is hostgator.com and further complaints about refusal to comply should be sent to [email][email protected][/email]

Let me make it clear, my intention is not to harm Itchy in any way, but my understanding of Guru was that my content and any revenue created by it was supporting the community. Now that I know it is going elsewhere, I wish to have it removed as I feel this is a breach of implied contract. I am angry as I am over this because my art and articles DO make me money elsewhere, and I never, ever intended to include them on a website which was padding someone else's pockets so heavily.

I am only including this because I've had it happen to me personally before - he may modify your content to break around copyright law. You can request that such derivatives also be removed.

I have personally dealt with DMCA, C&D and copyright information on numerous occasions as a digital and traditional artist. Your posts, are yours, and you have every right to ask him to remove them. Please, be polite and thorough, do NOT attack Itchy in any way. At all. If I hear ANYWHERE that you were rude or harsh to him via email, there will be consequences. I am confident that he understands the severity of this issue and am very hopeful that he will comply with any and all requests to remove content. Remember that it takes time, as well, so if you impose a deadline do not say "tomorrow lols". Two weeks and up should be alright.

Please be sure to specify who you are exactly - on GURU, and what posts you would like to have removed. Ie, I will be saying, "I would like you to remove any posts containing images made by the username Zephyri." Just make sure he knows who you are and has enough information to remove the content.

And I can't stress it enough, please, be polite and mature.

Haha I hear you loud and clear. At this point though, it's just important that people get their things removed if they wish, and move on.

So please, anyone, tell him to remove my work from his site. I want my guide removed.

Unfortunately, if you want to elevate the matter to a C&D eventually, you must be the one emailing to ask for your content to be removed.

All you have to do is send a short email like this:

I am notifying you that I would like the following content removed within three weeks starting today: Any posts made by the user Xiyame (me). <OR you could just ask for one thing to be removed> The guide titled "How to be Awesome" posted by me under the alias/username Xiyame. Thank you.

I honestly do not believe anyone will have to go as far as issuing a C&D to his host. I trust that he will remove content when asked.

I'm not going to be actively doing anything anti-guru anymore. It's starting to annoy me.
We have the community here, and that's the goal of this move. Itchy can build up a new community and either learn from his mistakes or screw up again in which case we'll welcome those poor souls over here as well.

As of now, for me, mabination is just a new fan site and we need to grow our community by inviting friends and so on. Once itchy has complied with my request to get rid of my stuff guru doesn't exist to me.

Agreed completely. I want my stuff gone. After that, he can do whatever he likes.

I mean, we all made cool friends and we all are friends here technically, but that doesn't mean we can't make this site cool!

I personally suggest we all just alienate entirely, because attacking the site is just immature and makes the community here look like a bunch of sore jerks.

I totally see where you're coming from, but I have images on there I want gone and others have guides they've worked on which they no longer want there etc. Doesn't have to be a big deal, I'm sure he'll nix them so long as we ask nicely.

Im not going to go emailing itchy, ill just wait for a bit and see if he allows edits again when everythings blown over. If he doesnt and its been a few weeks ill request my guides are deleated, i copied the only 2 good ones ive made here so yea.
