A Message Regarding Unreleased Items
Hello Mabinogians,
We are aware that there are many unreleased items being brought into Mabinogi and we would like to remind everyone that obtaining such items is against our Terms of Service. Obtaining any unreleased items will result in the banning of your account. It does not matter how you came into contact with these items and if you have one in your inventory it will be removed without warning. We suggest that if you do have any, to dispose of them immediately. Some suggestions on how to dispose would be to burn in a campfire, use the destroy button (if the item has one), drop on your Homestead and then exit to destroy, or place a ticket if the item cannot be destroyed.
We are taking actions against these users and would like to ask for your assistance! If you have seen anyone with unreleased items, we would like to request that you report them at . Make sure you ONLY send reports about unreleased items. Any other reports sent to this email will be ignored. Include their IGN and server along with a screenshot/video of the unreleased item. (DO NOT post your evidence on the forums as it counts as harassment.)
Here are some guidelines to follow when submitting your evidence:
- Screenshot/video must clearly show all names of the reported
- Screenshot/video must show exactly what the reported player is doing
- We should be able to understand what is happening in the screenshot/video upon first glance
- Screenshot/video quality should be very clear and not pixelated
Not sure what counts as an unreleased item? Please refer to these screenshots of what some of the unreleased items would look like:
There are also many items that you may recognize as ones that are not available in our version of Mabinogi and those should always be reported as unreleased.
For your help we will be rewarding players who submit reports. If there are multiple reports on the same player, only the first legitimate report will receive the reward. We will then investigate the player and actions will be taken at our discretion.
Thank you for your support and for helping us keep Mabinogi clean!

Note sure if this counts as news if it doesn't please remove it.

Well that's interesting. Nexon is really cracking down on things. This is good to hear. I approve :thumb:
Only slight issue I see with their examples are new event items that they haven't bothered to translate yet.
This is not a witch hunt and not all reports will be taken into consideration. I understand that there will be people who are reporting others for the sake of being a jerk, and those will be ignored. Only legit reports will be dealt with.
Each report will be investigated fully and the evidence will be examined. We do know which items are unreleased and which are released, but untranslated.
Looks like Sabina took care of that:

Does the orchesta dress also fall under this?
They gave away the pattern in an event, yet the item is untranslated.
Wouldn't suprise me if Nexon banhammered me for a few weeks by mistake.

They said if the untranslated item contains partentheses at the beginning of the name, then it should be reported (cutscene-only, monster-only, NPC-only, etc). They also say that the gender (whatever you call it lolol) of the item is always put in the back, so I think you're safe on that.

It's funny because there are extremely useful unreleased items that are completely translated and offer absolutely no hints that they are so, other than they're an item you can't get.

Nexon does have a list of what's released and what's not released. I would assume if it was in an event that you obtained it in, you'll be safe. (See Sabina's post)
Then again, maybe I'm putting my blind trust in Sabina and Nexon here but I'll take their word for it that they will do a thorough investigation before taking any action.

What counts as un-released items:
Shadow mission Prop weapons/armors/shields with 0-0 attack, balance, injury, crit, and 1 durability
Prop clothing worn by certain npc's such as nao, morrighan, cichol etc.
Tork's blacksmith suit (m)
Any of the "future items, weapons, and armors" listed on the wiki, an example would be the soul searcher sword.
Items such as GM super weapons, and armors
Nation specific items such as transformation nao stones
Cash items such as ego dyes, ego blessings, pet transfere's, etcetcetc
Basically, anything that can't be obtained through normal means.
