Death penalty

  Death penalty sounds a lot like revenge, plus it takes so long for all the legal work to go through that a lot of times i think the person on death row just dies in jail anyway. Removing the death penalty would save a lot of legal work and money im betting, and with that extra money they could put it into making prisons more secure, so people having a life sentence or something would not be able to escape.
  
  At least, thats how it works out in my mind, not sure about what would happen irl.

  death is a good way to prevent further crimes commited by the same person (there are several cases with people commiting crimes no matter how many times they've been caught)

  To me, it depends on the severity of their crime. If it's multiple killings, they get death. If they brutally murdered 1 person, death. If it's just a killing or something then they can rot in jail.

  You do know the costs of having someone kept in jail for their whole life? They still get medical treatment, food, etc., all of which is paid for by taxpayers.

  You must not know what its like in prison to make a statement like that. People in prison work, hard, for absolutely nothing. They do a lot of community services, and things around the jail. Sure, they get food and shelter, but they get almost no privileges. They're humiliated, beaten, stripped of TONS of their rights... yeah, if I were a murderer I'd much rather DIE than spend the rest of my life like that. So, no, that isn't a luxury. In that situation, death is a luxury.
  
  Anyway, I've always felt that intentional murder should be punished with the worst punishment possible. Life in jail is a better, longer sentence than death. But, I still feel there are some instances where death is necessary.

  Seriusly though, It would save the already confusing and tied up legal system a ton of work. And it would even stop all the people who are so against it from complaining too, which is always a plus.

  Well, you'd have to dig a large hole for every lifer, which would take a lot of effort. @_@
  
  The main reason the legal system is tied up is because there are so many stupid lawsuits, especially against the cities. Most cases end up getting settled out of court, but there's still a lot of paperwork to deal with. The money spent on repairs for jails, maintenance and protection, guards, psychologists, food, water and electricity for jails, etc., could be used for something more worthwhile. Although it's not a nice topic, you have to see how much money is saved by condemning a criminal to death. Perhaps this is why more effort is being put into rehab of criminals.
