  No, it was never a Doujin in terms of the original creator. There's much you have to learn of Touhou. Touhou first and foremost is a bullet dodging series with highly memorable characters behind a backdrop of dodging intricate bullet patterns as various incidents are solved by the Shrine Maiden Haikuri Remei and the Magician Marisa Karisme. Oh and let us not forget the overenthusiastic youkai exterminator who's specialties is performing miracles, Sanae Moriya!

  All rights to Touhou characters is owned by the great and all mighty master ZUN who's epicness cannot even begun to be comprehended. There is a lot of fan made games, spin off games, flash vids, and doujins though.

  This is true, but they don't own the copyrights to Touhou. The characters belong soley to ZUN. He's just incredibly kind enough to let fans use them as they please but if he wanted to, he could enforce his copyrights over the characters.
  
  There is a reason why ZUN won't let Touhou become a full blown anime because he wants Touhou to be remembered for by the games rather than the anime and that stuff happens on youtube all the time. If I was one of those hardcore Touhou fans, I would have really jumped down on that doujin statement :/

  Netflix total is 96 a year, isn't so bad because i can use it on my phone, TV, Other various devices. For under 100 a year i can stream with 0 effort on all of my devices without going through hoops of a VPN.
  
  
  Also pirating on Consoles like the 360 for example will get your account and box permanently blacklisted with no redemption. I rather play games with my friends legitimately like you are supposed to than jump through hoops doing illegal things like stealing.
  
  To me, pirating is like going to a store and stealing something with no intention of paying.
  
  It is why good games aren't ever translated out to the west because people pirate the japanese games and translate and hand out the games with a half ass translation.
  
  Piracy is why some western developers do not translate from eastern developers.
  Monster Hunter's portable games come to mind.
  
  Point being, there is absolutely no justification for stealing, unless you have a damn good selfless reason.
  
  
  Also, privacy. Pfft, like how private facebook is or how private your phone lines are?
  No such thing as true privacy, not like i care either, i have nothing to hide.
  
  Sometimes people have to think about the future in order to see how their present actions are going to help them.
  And also my opinions and bias on this piracy issue stems from not having access to a computer/internet when i was growing up, I paid (yes) or got as gifts all of my games and consoles and it really upset me that i would see people in my neighborhood steal when other people work for everything they have.

This culture of piracy you see around these days is indeed in part due to a generation of self-indulgent kids growing up on the internet, used to thinking "I should just be able to get it for free, because I can and I won't get caught." Technological abstraction also reduces the amount of guilt one would feel when they consider whether they should steal or not; stealing via piracy doesn't feel like running off with a box of a video game out of a shop. (Although if you wanted to get into the details of it, piracy is more like counterfeiting than stealing.. but for all moral purposes, it's the same thing.) This is also why you see losers jailbreaking their iPhones so they can pirate apps. I mean, seriously? They pay like $200 for the phone on a 3 year contract for a total cost of close to $3000 for 3 years to the big companies like Apple and the cellular carriers, but they're not okay with giving the tiny app developer $1 for their work.
  
  Indeed, this is why many developers are reluctant to make games for the PC these days and limit their stuff to consoles. :|

  They can stop me from running off with a box of video games from a shop, but they can't stop me from downloading stuff off the internet. It's not "I should just be able to get it for free," but rather, "I CAN get it for free, so I will." I mean, look at what happens after hurricanes. Everyone and their pet dog grabs a TV from a shop and runs off. Greed is human nature.

Yeah, those ghetto Americans from New Orleans went on a looting and raping rampage after some of the city was destroyed by hurricane Katrina. Yet there was no looting, nor any violence when Japan was hit with the massive earthquake, followed by a tsunami that wiped out parts of some towns.
