I'm planning to start up a leap Evie and a leap Karok. Naturally, I don't plan to play both actively in addition to my Fiona. Probably just play one of them as a side character when I get bored and/or for more dailies. Now for the questions:
How big of a difference is there between the Scythe Evies and Staff Evies? Is one far more superior than the other? I've played Scythes before and rather enjoyed the game play. Haven't played staffies yet however.
Next is are Cestus Karok far more inferior than a Pillar Karok? Or is the inferiority not enough to justify only playing pillar?
Thanks.

When scythes get buffed again, they're going to be incredibly fast and will almost certainly be better as a result.

What? You can make two jump characters?? Or are you planning on managing two accounts?
Anyways... the following are only my personal opinions.
Scythe Vs. Staff
Staff obviously is more of a defensive class compared to Scythe. Most of the Staff magic are used at a distance, but Scythe has more attacking range. Other than Magic Arrows, most of the Staff magic are mainly strong single hits. Scythes have the option to perform consecutive hits, but that also renders most Scythe attacks rather weak in damage seperately. Since Scythes are rather slow in North America's current version, Staffs' powers would take more priority.
Pillar Vs. Cestus
Let's face it... literally. Pillars are an easy inyourface spam. Contrasting the Cestus, Pillar has a significantly longer attacking delay. However, both weapons' rebound time are almost the exact same. Therefore, Pillar has longer Absorb Shock frames than Cestus has Weaving frames. Also, Pillar Toss is a very powerful maneuver, and Big Bang Attack is just pitiful. They're just too similar in style, making Pillar the obvious better choice.

Scythes actually have better survivability right now for someone who's adjusted to the boss (but maybe not someone brand new who spams amber?) and staves have a little better DPS.
Scythes are just getting their speed buffed again, and the buff is massive. I believe after that, they'll do more DPS.
