Dunno if you guys had the same experience but when I started playing Vindictus during Open Beta, my tactic almost immediately became "GRAPPLE ALL THE THINGS"... which worked for basically everything cept bosses.... in which case it was "Pick up large rocks and throw at boss".
Boy did that get old fast.
I wonder if they'll release skills like Defense, Counter and magic/ranged/alchemy.

That ride armor, what is this, Mega Man X? I guess Nexon decided Mabinogi needed Magitech like every other fantasy setting...
Team smashes are the only thing that looked good in that video.
This looks like it's going to be the Resident Evil 4 of the Mabinogi series: A good game, but throwing out all of the elements that make it Mabinogi.
The witch and the knight look pretty Druid/celtic to me. The bard looks like a bard/commoner. I'm not seeing the asian influences you mention
Golems have become a staple of the franchise, and depending on where this game takes place in the timeline, its looks might make sense, specially if it's a "sequel"
Funny you make the RE4 comparison, since it's pretty much regarded as the last great game in the franchise. While yes, it got rid of some staples and sacred cows, it also brought innovation, and an extremely fun gameplay. It's still too early to tell how Mabi2 will roll though.

I'm actually pretty excited for this, despite what people are saying about it losing the mabinogi feel.
I see it as what it is, a completely different game. The only similarity they really need to still call it mabinogi is the storyline, which im assuming it has judging by what I saw from trailers.

Vind combat is better? ._.

It looks totally nothing like DN combat lol
Really, its more similar to mabi combat if it was more geared towards controller controls.
Auto targeting and facing your enemy that's just like mabinogi. The only thing that's different is the grapple and the larger mix of animations.
Most likely there will be more enemies onscreen at a time.

Looks pretty good, I'm hoping its more like mabinogi and not Vindictus though. I'd like to see some acutal in-game gameplay, but I don't think its that far into developement.

My feelings exactly. I felt the same for Vindictus as well.

Actually I have to disagree. The movements and the way of the fighting.. it had this nostalgic mabinogi feel from back in G3... It's a feeling that wasn't present in Vindictus.. I can't wait to see more..

You can ride and use a few skills while mount by a Tigar/Dragon but doesn't go to well...
but I agree, I'd love to have a battle Lion/Tigar

I mean a class set that is based around Riding a Dinosaur thing like in that video :3.
Tail Whip, Fire Breath, Trample etc.
Besides the battle pet system is kinda broken ever since the skill rework D:.
