Hello, I plan on starting life skills soon so I can provide for my guild members and friends, I was wondering if there were any blacksmithing and tailoring guides available, or just personal advice or guides from people who have ranked them? Right now my only questions are, should I get a lvl 10 exp reforged blacksmith hammer and should I rank weaving to make my own mats? All help is appreciated, thank you.

General Rule of Thumb:
Tailoring? Get r1 Weaving first.
Blacksmith? Get r1 Refining first.
For either skill, do PTJs to get them as highest possible, before trying anything else.
Reforges are always nice, and keep in mind that with the lack of material in the game economy, trying to rank either skill past 9 is time consuming.
Also remember that while tailoring is far easier than blacksmithing, it's near worthless.
You'd probably make x100 the money or be of more assistant to your guild, simply by getting materials. (People are buying finest fabrics at 150k/stack in Tarlach)

Well, even though most members of my guild are 5k+, including myself, none of us have r1 blacksmithing or tailoring as far as I know.
How far can I get Tailoring with PTJs? I know I can get Blacksmithing to r9 with ptjs and I do have r1 refining already.
I am told that lvl 10 exp reforged blacksmith hammers are 10m+, but save you so many materials. I can afford one, but then I'd be broke or near-broke.
I do want blacksmithing at r1 more then tailoring and I would rank it first, but anyways, thanks for the advice :).

Here's one by a Mabination member:
http://mabination.com/threads/60099-Chaos-Life-Skill-Guide-Tailoring
It's basically like this:
Do PTJ till rank 9 (for both tailoring and blacksmithing), then you're on your own in finding materials etc.

Tailoring is a lot harder to rank than Blacksmithing if you consider the mats. For Blacksmithing, you can just buy all the leathers, and use synthesis to increase the number of ingots you have. Definitely buy EXP 10 Blacksmithing hammer and Patron set if you want to rank it. This is what I did for Blacksmithing with EXP 10 reforge.
r9 - Make Broadswords until you complete your 'Successful in making a tool or a weapon' training (you don't have to finish them). Make weeding hoe/sickle to complete your 'Completed making tool or a weapon 100%' training. Finish the rest by making Light Melka Chain Mail.
r8- Make Valencia's Cross line Plate Armor (Male) for great success in creating armor and Light Hetero Kite shield for shield. You don't have to complete either. You can if you want to try to sell it, but normally nobody would buy it.
r7 - More Valencia's Cross line Plate Armor (Male) for great success in creating armor and Norman Warrior Helm for helm. Again, you don't have to complete these, but you can if you want.
r6 - Valencia's Cross line Plate Armor (Female) for great successes in creating armor and Valencia's Cross line Plate Gauntlet (Giants) for gauntlet success.
r5 - Dustin Silver Knight Armor for great success in creating armor and Valencia's Cross Line Plate Boots for greaves success.
r4 - Dustin Silver Knight Armor for great success in creating armor, Great Sword for success in creating tool/weapon and weeding hoes/sickles for complete tool/weapon.
r3 - Dustin Silver Knight Armor for great success in creating armor, Vales Great Sword or Claymore for success in creating tool/weapon and weeding hoes/sickles for complete tool/weapon.
r2 - Weeding hoe/sickle until you complete that training, and Vales Great Sword or Claymore until you get 100%.
It's a good idea to make a few Finest Anvils, 2 Blacksmithing Success Rate reforged accessories, Patron set and use them with Harvest Song in order to have better success rates for Great success in creating armor. Especially Dustin armors, that thing kills your mats..

Around how much would a Lv 10, Lv 9 or Lv 5 reforge for blacksmithing exp cost? I noticed the thread talking about Lv 10 reforges and I'm kinda interested in knowing. :o

Get a level 5 reforge.
Level 10 reforge is not worth the money.
Unless you want to save time, it definitely wont save you money.
I have a level 5 tailoring, handi, and smith reforge. I ranked those to r1 during the DR weekends extremely effortlessly, as a matter of fact, i had so much excess mats, i sold off all of my wood boards for a total of 3m.

The smithing guide is incredibly dated, also there are substitutes to making dustin armor, requires annoying missions or jousting.
