Google Chrome not producing any sounds

This is an archive of the mabination.com forums which were active from 2010 to 2018. You can not register, post or otherwise interact with the site other than browsing the content for historical purposes. The content is provided as-is, from the moment of the last backup taken of the database in 2019. Image and video embeds are disabled on purpose and represented textually since most of those links are dead.

Pretty annoying. All of a sudden it won't play any sounds and I can't find a fix via google.

I checked the mixer and everything. Sounds for everything else work completely fine.

Basically, you go to the specified folders, copy the stuffs, and then put it back after reinstalling. I don't know much about chrome and computers and stuff, but you'll lose everything if that's the wrong folder lol. Maybe get someone else (who knows stuff) here to verify if that's the correct location.

It's here:
for XP: C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default
for 7/Vist: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default

I'd say you may as well just copy the entire chrome folder.

If you have a Google account, History+Bookmarks+Settings should be synced with your account.
(Settings > Sign In if you haven't done so by now. Then you can choose what you want to sync in Advanced Sync settings...)

Did you check the mixer for Google Chrome or flash?

If you don't see the flash, play a video in full screen an alt tab, the video should still be in the background in full screen. From there, open the mixer and you should see Flash.

Yes.

The problem is with Flash, I just played a video on tumblr and it worked fine.

You should be able to see chrome in your volume mixer if you have something like youtube playing. If it's just flash, maybe try re-installing/repairing that.
