For the love of God can someone help me figure out why the fucking Windows Store won't bloody load :shoe:
Trying to fucking get Skype and it just sits at the loading screen. I've rebooted like 10 times already and it still won't open. I've been waiting for 10 minutes for it to do something but it just sits there.
Really want Skype :(
Google is not turning up any results either.
UPDATE: Finally found a non Windows Store Download and it appears to be working fine. Still no clue why the Windows Store is broke and won't load.

There is a Metro version on the Windows Store.

It's where Microsoft forces you to get Skype like Apple forces you to get their apps from their app store. Microsoft owns Skype so the only link on their website is to their windows store and to pour salt on the wound, you can only see the link on Internet Explorer.
Thanks a lot Microsoft!
For the most part it's fixed. Just don't get why none of the windows apps are loading. Music won't load, Windows store won't load. I just don't get it. How can so many things not work :(

Because it's Windows 8 and metro fails?
Aside from that to be serious, sounds like an execution bug of some sort if it's running across all of your applications. So you may have a corrupt OS to some degree.
That or it may just be Windows 8.

Antivirus might be blocking them if you have one installed, also, windows firewall needs to be on or else certain apps don't work (those that need to go online in some way, like the store)
Graphic driver issues might cause it, or if you have an awkward, non-standard screen resolution in some rare cases it screws up.
If UAC is turned off tiles seem to stop working randomly.
Make sure you do all the windows updates.
Did you upgrade or fresh install? With upgrades make sure you're not still using an administrator account from your previous version of windows, for whatever reason it just doesn't work (some security issues I guess).
Ran into all those problems when testing the beta releases at work.

Hmm...
I did upgrade and didn't do a fresh install cause I didn't want to go through the hassle of doing all the stuff so it is using an administrative account from a previous version of windows. I did apply all the updates it could find but that hasn't helped. I shall try making a new administrative account and then start going through your other suggestions of checking windows firewall, temp turning off kaspersky and see if that helps.
Thanks Osay!
UPDATE: So far no luck with alternate account, switching to local account on alternate account, pausing kasperky. Checked UAC and that's set to default. Temp paused Kaspersky and still not working. Going to try a registry fix that some site is suggesting (backing up first before I try it)
UPDATE2: I hate this option but it's the last thing I will try. It says I should uninstall Kaspersky. We'll see if this works.
UPDATE3: Holy Shit! Uninstalling Kaspersky fixed the problem COMPLETELY! I can use all the windows 8 apps on my main account that I switched to local. Well thanks for nothing Kaspersky. Time to hunt for a new anti-virus that doesn't block windows 8 apps but still does a smashing job.
FINAL UPDATE: Switched to BitDefender and that doesn't block windows 8 apps and seems to have a higher rating than Kaspersky. Thanks for the help everyone! Now to remove my other account that I don't need anymore.

Also keep in mind that microsoft's security essentials antivirus is built into the OS now. It's probably fine to install 3rd party antivirus that plays nicely with windows 8, but I tried to install security essentials and it bitched at me saying it's built in :point:

You can just go to skype and install the "Windows Desktop" version..

sounds to me like Windows 8 is still not the way to go and i will hate finding out how to do it once i go to windows 8 for MSVC 2012 for building programs while trying to install mabi as like the ONLY REASON to go to windows 8 is MSVC 2012 as i don't know anything else which requires you to have windows 8 besides Metro and Metro is the main complaint about Windows 8.
