Ok so..
http://www.overclock.net/t/1156654/seans-windows-7-install-optimization-guide-for-ssds-hdds
I followed ^ that guide. Minus removing Windows 7's networking capability.
So basically, I don't have remote desktop, blutetooth, the list goes on. I basically have
a skeleton Windows with DHCP so I can still connect to the internet. Which also means
I've cut pagefile usage in half and my computer boots in less than 5 seconds. (Moar Performance)
Okay. So. I download mabi all the while "go go go" I'm talking to my girlfriend happy as all hell...
I get off the phone 5min left on download I'm like "OMG GO FASTER" and so it finishes.
It would be worthwhile to note here I just installed an SSD. My OS is on this SSD
(OS: Operating System. SSD: Solid State Drive)
Okay. So the 500GB 7200 RPM Drive I was using, is now my user folders / programs
drive. So far so good. I install to F:\Administrator\Programs\Mabinogi\
I run as administrator it downloads the patch in record time and then just disappears.
No "Failed to Run" or nothin. Just gone. No "Report Error" in Mabinogi folder either.
It is worthwhile to note that my computer is completely devoid of the foul creature that is
Internet Explorer. It has Mozilla Firefox.
I realize this may have been a mistake. However the launcher still runs fine right up until
Game Start button would normally change states. It's at this point stuff just disappears.
ON TOP of this, I try to run the launcher again, and it says it can't access it or I don't have rights.
So I try to access it via Running Windows Explorer (File Browser) as Admin. Still nothing.
In fact, for every time I want to start the launcher, I need to re-install.
So, is the ONLY fix here, COMPLETELY redoing the 3-5 hour process that is custom-trimming Win7
for maximum performance.. and including the foul internet explorer. It's nothing but a liability,
slow, crappy waste of space on my 60 GB OS-Dedicated SSD.
I think this has more than just Internet Explorer issues. This seems to be on a file-level.
Is there anything else Mabinogi is reliant on so I know what I need to include when I do my build
in RT 7 Lite
If anyone has any better suggestions, PLEASE let me know.
Thank you for your time.
