@thread
Thanks, but sadly, the decision was made in the ban appeal ticket I got prior to making this thread. In other words, there's nothing really that can be done.
I find it funny though, that one of the people who reported me made the exact same edit to the Mabinoger wiki on the exact same day and are known PTS leaks to anyone who asks around... but those pointing fingers are exempt from being pointed at!

Well, this is pretty ridiculous. Highly unprofessional on their part. There should be ways to fight this.

Trust me, I would know. I've known them since before they were called Nexon over here! And I have seen plenty of failures on their part, but they've never done something as ridiculous as banning based on "evidence" other players provide.

they have no hard-evidence that the mabinogi wikipedia user indexu is linked to your character aside what someone claims
they can claim shit all day and still have no hard evidence unless you openly admit to being the owner of the account
you can possibly use this in your favor if you havent admitted to the "crime" already in an appeal

File a ticket, this is wrong and should never have happened.
If anyone wants to, please send a ticket to help Indexu re-obtain access to their account.

While using the Service, you agree not to:
- Harvest or collect information about the Service, visitors to the Site or users of the Service without their express consent;
- Download, copy, reproduce, republish, upload, post, transmit, modify, distribute or publicly display any of the content or information contained in the Service except as expressly authorized by this Agreement
- Modify the Software, Cash Items or the Service to change "game play," including, without limitation, creating cheats and/or hacks or using third-party software to access files in the Software or Service;
- Reverse engineer, packet sniff, decompile or disassemble all or any portion of the Service, Cash Items or Software;
But those terms have been in the ToS for a long time, and nobody has ever been banned for that before, let alone permabanned unless some form of cheating was involved. Mainly pake-related cheats. In fact there were times when the mods were asking the userbase for tech help when things were broken. Did they send you an actual cause for the ban? I seriously doubt they would permaban you just for looking at the xml data in the packages.

That type of tickets would be auto-closed since it's not related to your account and slows down their resolution of other tickets. There's really nothing to do with it being Nexon.

Despite your inaccurate implications or whether you want them to be true, that is not the case.
I made an edit in the wiki and someone from volunteer/pts chat freaked out and raged about it there, and shortly after (because of similar unrelated events of information being leaked before the release) a nexon GM asked for a list in said chat for IGN of players involved in data mining/release of PTS information along with proof. My name had been just posted in the chat along with the raging, and presented with the opportunity to banhammer all the people they wanted, they did so.
This is factual information, not speculation. I am friends with someone (who is not my guild, in case anyone feels like trying to implicate the wrong person) who has access to that information and warned me hours before the ban. Several other people, including a main administrator of the mabinogi world wiki (who input tons of datamined PTS skill information) are banned indefinitely for the same reason.
You caught my attention after "Mabinogi World Wiki".
Could you please clarify what you mean by "players are banned for false information that the immature members of the Mabinogi World Wiki provide through tickets through 'data mining'"? As far as I know, no one has been banned from the game using the information from the wiki, nor would it be possible.

But you don't have a screencap of something like the ban ticket? It's information about an innocuous bug fix. Information that would be in future patch notes. Unless there is a full nondisclosure term in the PTS ToS, that wouldn't be grounds for a permaban. And if there is a term like that, then congrats, you are really dumb.

You do know that the same person you're quoting was banned? Or that Sabina recently raided MWW and made them redo their policy to incorporate PTS and it's right there in the main homepage, and gave them new guidelines to follow. Also, people are made to sign a nondisclosure agreement for PTS/volunteer participation if you did not know. I have not signed such agreement, since I do not participate in PTS or volunteer programs, and my wiki edit was common information from a live release in KR - not even KR test.
My ticket also does not say that any hacking, exploiting or glitch-abusing was at play like it does every time those factors are involved. Only that the account had violated their ToS so it could not be re-instated.
Either way, I ask people not to make any threads here or in nexon forums as well as any tickets in my name. I am fine with quitting now, this thread is simply a farewell to this community, not a call to arms for some futile cause.

Could this have been avoided if you simply did not use the same name on MWW as you do on Mabi?

But I don't. The name in MWW is the same as my Mabination forum name, but not my IGN. However, the correlation between that name and my IGN is known to those who played a part in this.
It does make you think how flawed and abusable the execution is, though.

How mean.
