I guess I'm kind of looking for mostly guys' opinions, but I guess girls' opinions could also be helpful...? :/ Anyway, my boyfriend turns 18 on the 24th, and I want to get him something special. Only trouble is, I don't know what the heck to get him, and he won't drop any hints. I've had to resort to asking him what he wants for his birthday, and he just keeps telling me to not get him anything, he just wants to be able to spend an entire day with me. As sweet as that is, I still want to get him something! My best friend asked 2 of her closest guy friends what they would want from a girlfriend on their birthdays, and one of them (the more mature of the two) said he'd just want to spend a day with her, and the other one (the seemingly much less mature) said he doesn't really know. :S
So I just dunno what to do. Maybe someone could give me a little advice? :what:

Well make a list! What are some of his favorite things? It can be anything, his favorite food, his favorite place to hang out, his favorite band. Make this list and go over it, and then put a day together centered around it or use it to pick out a gift. :>

Get him something that he likes? o. o
Or maybe go out for a dinner for his b-day?

Maybe he wants to go to second base.....?
/sarcasm
Just get him something that means a lot to you. Maybe a special picture of you two together on a great day in a nice photo frame?

Unless you guys spend days together often without interruptions like school, work or other things, then his answer is probably an honest one and not just trying to seem romantic. That doesn't mean you can't get him anything, spend the day together but do things he likes on that day, like if a movie came out he seems interested in.

Pfffffttt. XD That made me laugh.
But you guys helped me quite a bit. I appreciate it. :) You made some vague ideas a little crisper. :)

Lol, that is EXACTLY what I told my girlfriend when she asked me. Exactly.
She ended up getting me a $25 iTunes gift card, which is perfect considering I got an iPod Touch for my birthday.
I honestly didn't want/need anything from her; spending the day with her was more than enough.

As a guy I would definitely say spending quality time together is always a good plan.
You can also do something like "dinner is on me".
Something minor but enjoyable is pretty decent too.
The honest truth is deep down we all expect something even though we ask for nothing. But what we want doesn't matter, its the idea that we actually got something. If there were no hints dropped, then he is literally okay with just about anything that you can give him to show your appreciation of him.
Or just do what xiya said. I mean what she said before the "/sarcasm" thing.

Take away his virgi-/Jumped.
Anyway, if he says he just wants to spend the entire day with you, then he just does. Cmon, women are practically one of the best things in life for men. That includes virtual women too (for the Otakus out there).

Think back-- is there anything that he's missing that he's wanted?
Clothing (hats?), electronics (ear phones?), weapons (lol... My gf likes these).
Otherwise, it's always nice to get something that will remind him of you. Bonus points if you can make something by hand :3

Steal his phone, and change his ringtone to something recorded. Have it associated to your name, and call him.
Or, give him a pair of headphones :D

The tiny earbud skullcandies are always a cheap yet amazing gift.

Eh even if it's late.... I dare say that all i wish for on my birthday is to be with my friends and my girl. Go out have have some beer and vodka together or go see a movie. You guys are probably a bit young for the alcohol thing but movies or food is good. Food is pretty fricken awesome I must say.

Also when in doubt, get him a mop. You can use it in any situation.
