  All-in-all, I'm surprised they legalized it in the first place. And that they didn't make it criminal sooner. Bestiality is a possible source for a number of STDs now in circulation amongst humans today, not to mention moral points of consent, this really should be in place in more places.
  
  Sadly the USA has.... I think 14 states where it's legal or so? You'd really think they fixed that. Goes to show Germany is ahead of the USA in a number of regards.

  I consider this a wide assumption. After all, there are a number of mammals with near-human intelligence (tool use, social activity, meaningful language [the last is by complexity of vocalization, used patterns, etc. there are algorithms for this]) (we're talking base / tribal human, not educated-in-society human.) among which are... dolphins, some whales, chimpanzees, orangutans, foxes, wolves, and some cats.

  Because human society has evolved to not have a problem with violence and killing to where it is more acceptable than sex. (which I don't understand) And humans are predators by nature / evolution / instinct and as such don't generally have problems when it comes to the consumption of other species.

  Vegans? With the agriculture and processing technology humanity has now, meat is not necessary for members of 1st world societies to survive. So it's not necessary. Nor is having sex amongst other human beings for purposes outside of reproduction. Nor is playing video games.
  While bestiality is wrong given that it is a clear way of introducing STDs to the human populace, and that the safety of the animal is at risk, in my opinion the reaction a lot of people have to it is overblown from what the actual repercussions are from such an act. i.e. make it illegal, but don't put it in the spotlight like murder.

  If you say an animal cannot consent to sex, you're essentially denying it the sentience that people like you, who cry 'abuse' all the time, assign to it so that you have a reason to make it sound morally wrong in the first place.
