Blu-ray does have higher quality. Blu-ray has a lot more space than a DVD.

Bluray is objectively better. It has more space and thus can store high quality data (or more of the same quality data).
No other differences.
Well, technically, they read faster... but that's irrelevant unless you're making really high bitrate movies. Higher than any production studio.

If you compare blue-ray rips and TVA rips, you can notice the quality difference. They also fix little mistakes they made in TVA. I'm not sure about DVD rips though...
