Wow, kind of shocked not as many people here are hyped for this. I remember back in the day when Lucky Star was everywhere you went on the english speaking net in 2007-2008ish (if said site was anime oriented).
I think Lucky Star is pretty funny and very charming. They don't have to set it after the first season, they can just set it in between. (Plus maybe if they make a new season, Max Factory will reissue the older figma hehehe)
imo people are just following the crowd with all the hate on moe anime. I'm actually pretty surprised that they may even make a second season. It's a whole lot better than watching K-On with cute girls doing cute things every single episode, since they actually throw in some genuine comedy I can relate to.

I beg to differ. If anything these forums seem indifferent at worst to moeblob series. I've seen much stronger hatred for series based on their moe factor in other places. Most people who dislike it will say first and foremost that they found it boring. I honestly disliked Lucky Star because it was trying way too hard and being almost insultingly pandering with the otaku in-jokes. Mind you, there have been many "just stand around and talk" series that have actually entertained me, such as Zetsubou Sensei, Mononoke and Bakemonogatari. I also disliked Lucky Star because of the constant comparisons its rabid fanbase tried to make with it and Azumanga Daioh (which was a better series by far; to give you an idea of how much I cringe whenever someone refers to a genre series that will overthrow Azumanga, think of every time an MMO is declared a WoW killer). When I look at slice-of-life or stand-around-and-talk series, I like character first, archetype second. Lucky Star was all archetype first, and maybe some character if you were lucky.

Well aren't you colorful, sir. But yeah, I see where you're getting at with your block of text. Some people hate cute girls doing cute things, while others particularly enjoy cute girls who shoot railguns while doing cute things. I myself am part of the latter bunch.

All I remember from K-ON was that you were supposed to love one of the girls in it because she was shy, and the rest of them were ignored and lacked personality because of that.
I'd definately say K-ON was worse than Lucky Star, though I'd rather not watch either of them.

Oh yeah, I forgot that nobody on Nation can't into sarcasm. By the way, my waifu > all others.
On topic however, I'm still pretty skeptical of whether it truly is a second season or not.
