Strong World is not canon, it's some kind of side-adventure written by Oda. So you don't need to be caught up, although it would help to know the crew, latest member being Brook. If you know that much don't hesitate to enjoy it as soon as you can.
Not sure hwo accurate that is but it's what I heard Dx Will know more after I watch.
There's also a prequel manga chapter floating out there somewhere.

A couple episodes of the anime were also prequels to it.

This movie was actually good. The other 9 movies have nothing on it D: It really shows that Oda took part in this one.

Just started watching it. So far Brook is the best character so far.

Movies =/= TV series, you only need the basic knowledge of the series to know whats going on in the movies. At least, from my experience of watching movies 1 through 9. (stupid remakes). I was waiting for a better quality one before i started torrenting, will now.
edit:
I just finished it, any man, this has to be the best Shounen Jump movie I've seen so far. The graphics were supurb for One Piece. Artwork was really nice. The outfits were all really fun and nice, the techniques used (fighting) were really high quality too, loved it when Brook pwn'd all those ants and Luffy's Gigantic Thor Axe (or w/e) was simply awesome. Zoro was as epic as ever, Usopp and Chopper saying "Is he invinicible?" made me lulz. Loved Robin's first outfit in the movie, lol when she got kidnapped... Sanji's OBJECTION! scene when saving her made me LOL!!! Nami looked different from before, maybe because I haven't been keeping up with the manga or anime but she looked different. Xaoi was pretty hilarious at times too fainting every now and then. Sadly, Franky seemed to get the lowest amount of screen time in this movie, although it was pretty nifty when he came up with vehicles using the animals. Somewhat off topic but I'm glad they resized the female characters breasts, they were oversized in the previous movies.

Nami and Robin's chests were increasing in every movie, and the physics applied to them as well. This movie finally took it back a few steps. Nami's were still kind of ridiculous though since she spent a 3rd of the movie in a bikini.

Finished it and dam, I'm not going to see a anime movie this great again in a while...
I like how unlike other series, nami wasn't held captive for the whole period of time.
