Quote from Drizzit;998514:
To be fair, he's not saying that kids died because they didn't believe in God, he's saying that the policies of not allowing prayer in schools keeps God from protecting people in schools. More than likely, in context, he was blaming the incident on the moral degradation of society that comes from leaving religion out of schools. (In his opinion still, of course)
After watching this video, I have to agree with Drizzit here.
I was expecting some horrible madman saying that those poor children died because God hates America or the public school system or some nonsense.
But he's addressing, a question that probably has come across many minds across America.
"Where was God?"
It's the same question that was asked during 9/11, or any other tragedy you can point to. Simply put, according to him - people can't seek to put the blame on God - when they wish to remove him so evidently from our society.
I'm not even talking about the Judeo-Christan God here, I'm talking about the concept of GOD in general.
When it comes in times of crisis like this - I just have one thing to say:
It rains on both the righteous and the wicked.
