So, as many of you know, it's Christmas time. Normally, during this time, I would have just got the staff members under my management a NX card for their hard work as a bonus. However, since I'm no longer an admin, I don't have the feeling to need to do it. However, at the same time, it doesn't sit right with me not to give out gifts for Christmas, so I still want to do it. But looking at how many active members of the site there are, and looking at the size of my wallet, there's no way that I would be able to get everyone a gift.
But there is a way that a large group of people can get gifts this year, and without spending too much of my money in the process. And it involves having everyone else spend their money. By that, I mean having a Secret Santa gift swap. Right now, though, I need to know if it's worth bothering to set up an event like this. If there is a good number of people who are willing to participate fully (meaning that they will be buying a gift for someone, and not just thinking it's a good idea, or help organize), then I'll further set up the event. Otherwise, I'll just buy gifts for friends, and be content that way.
I'm thinking of a limit of $10-20, to give everyone an idea of how much to spend, as well as prevent one person getting a super amazing gift, for example TERA with a 1 year subscription (a total of around $140), while another person gets the short end of the stick, because the person who was to give them a gift only got them a $1 digital Amazon gift card.
So, I put up a poll to see how many people would be willing to participate by buying a random person they may or may not know a gift for Christmas. If I get enough yeses to make me feel that the community will get together to spread cheer around, then tomorrow, I'll make an official thread for the event. If not, then oh well.
