  Got from rD to r5 cooking in a few hours. Up to rank 9, thanks to exp 2 cooking tool and event boost, books gave 90 exp. 90+10 from the event meant I ranked up just from the books alone. For later ranks I basically ignored Glewya's books and ranked up by doing everything else. Also, got this:

  Friend made me a 43 max bhafel hunter and I bought my way through to rank 1 enchanting. Just 18 more dex till I finish from skills.. Stupid blacksmithing and tumble.

  Finally finished spinning uppercut.
  Getting crits was dumb, but r2 was really easy.
  Pot poison and -max enchants let me just camp the same weak prison ghost outside of metus.

  This event has been incredible for rekindling my fire.
  
  Finally got to r5 cooking after spending forever being at r6. And then I fully ranked r5 just because I could.
  
  Pondering what else I could do during the event, three days ago I began making plans to go from rB Blacksmithing to r5. 2 days ago, it occurred to me that with just a little more effort, I could go all the way. So I did. r1 Blacksmithing acquired!

  Strange, I thought my way was laziest. I could literally point my camera northward and hit tab-[F1-Firebolt] until room is over, next room, repeat.
  Its lazy enough that I could read a book while running coil abyss.

  Well, no repairing or using up consumables of any kind adds to my kind of laziness.
  Also, for some reason firebolt seems to do peanuts damage against the boss while a single final hit crit strike grabbles up like 10% or more of it's hp. Idk if there's some physical vs magical mechanic going on or if the difference between the two skills is just that big.
  
  Unrelated but curious, dmg done to the boss also seems to alternate between 100% and 50% (or some other lower amount?) every few seconds. I never paid enough attention to notice.

  Sephirot Guard. While he's not using any of his skills he gets like 70% damage redux in prot/mprot. Its primarily why when you're constantly hitting him he suddenly just tears apart when he starts using skills in comparison to not. He has no other protection outside of that.
  
  And considering you're slamming 20k+ crits with FH and hitting pretty much twice as fast as firebolt can, I'd say its just the difference between the two in NA.

  I'm fairly certain there's some difference between physical and magical attacks. I can do like 50k firebolts on barrier spikes, and my firebolt crits still come nowhere close to my final hit strikes against him.
