Question on guild w/o service

The guild I belong to is a really small guild, equivalent of advanced level. Leader wants to stop service and just leave the guild the way it is.

Will our characters still collect GP without the guild stone/service? What will happen to existing GP within the guild and the guild stone level (I hear it drops back to 0?)?

If leader don't pay the service, guild stone disappears and says guild has expired.
But the title above your name will stay

I believe it does drop to 0 and it won't add up until you get a stone. In my old guild I leveled to over 40 and I forgot to give in the GP when the service expired, after he got the stone again I had no GP.

Yes all members can remain but my question is why. Is there no one the Guildmaster can turn leadership over to that has service? I mean surely someone trustworthy in guild can take it over.

A few reasons.

Being a new guild, we screen all the people joining the guild. The original guildleader is the only who can do this, because she is pretty demanding on the type of people to join the guild.

We have bad experience with the guild leader of our previous guild because he accepts anyone and does not clear out dead accounts, which makes it seem like a dead guild. People have left their mule accounts there with their main joining another guild, which makes it less reason for the people to have any sense of unity.

At this point as everyone will be going back to school/work, so it is difficult for us to recruit good people. GP and money are not a big problem if we need to restore the stone, since we are about 19 strong, so freezing was the best option for us.

The other thing is about not wanting to depend on service when we don't need it.

Exactly what he should do.
Then again, it might be a guild that's too small that no one else has service...? =/

Doesn't work.
Basic storage don't provide guild options.

There are people with service but...I don't think the guildleader wants them to take the guild. You know, like loss of control and authority.

Put all your GP into the stone before it expires.
My guild kept all the GP/gold and I let it expire lots of times since I quit/return often now. The only thing you loose is the upgraded stone, which sucks if you maxed it out but otherwise isn't a problem.
