An internet search of "chupacabra" turns up some interesting images of reptilian sci-fi creatures.
Wildlife experts say the chupacabra is an unproven folktale.
"It is a mythological legend that's taken on a life of its own," said Oklahoma City Zoo Education Director Teresa Randall.
Documented sightings of the chupacabra often turn up hairless dog-like creatures.
"I think it would be realistic to have a coyote-dog-mix with pretty good case of mange," explains Randall.
The word "chupacabra" literally means the "goat sucker."
The name comes from its reported habit of drinking the blood of livestock.
Exactly what the kids saw in Tecumseh remains up for debate.
"I don't know. I'm thinking it's the chupacabra, but people say it's not real. I don't know," said Craighead.

by looking at pictures of the chupacarbra drawn by some witnesses it does not look like a dog it's supposed to have wings and goat legs

There's too many interpretations of this thing for it to be just one creature D:
People probably just label any unknown animal they see as chupacabra. Especially in areas where more traditional ways of thinking are present, and even more especially in the past.
That isn't to say there isn't such a thing as some unidentified animal that likes to eat goats, but since it hasn't been found, and there's so many visual representations of the thing it's hard to give it much credibility.
It's not like bigfoot where everyone agrees on the general shape and size of the creature, up to a point where it's very probable that there's some unidentified ape species out there.
IMO calling something chupacabra is synonymous with calling it "monster", it's ugly, scary and you don't know what it is so you label it.

Looks like a diseased canine to me. :/
I'm not saying there isn't such a thing as a chupacabra though, because there is so much unexplored, or even unexplorable, land and waters out there that all these "mythological" creatures could be real. Okapis were discovered only about 100 years ago. So I'm open minded.

''I was thinking it was a chucapabra, but people say they don't exist, so I don't know...''
That was kinda funny.
I feel sorry for that dog :[.
