Guilty Crown. Holy. What.
Well, I hate the main character, but its as they say : the people who you hate most are more alike to you than you could ever imagine. I feel like I would have made many of the same decisions that Shu made, and I kinda respect most of his choices, thought i say "What the hell?" sometimes.
Especially when Inori admits that everything she said about "I want to be with you forever" was all a lie made up by Gai... I would have lost it, just like Shu. When Shu sees Inori walk into the room with Gai... I would have been like "I'm outta here, have fun, see you guys on T.V."
The concept is amazing. The world is amazing. The OST is amazing. The character depth is amazing.
So far. I'm only on episode 12. I'm swept away right now.
What did you guys think?

so I think the story went downhill a few episodes farther from there.
I personally didn't care about the rest of the story because it got so messy.
I really liked it at the beginning too, but at the end I was too confused to care.
I still like the songs and inori's character design though. ; 7 ;

One of the few anime I didn't finish 12 episodes in.

I hate him towards the middle, but once he gets his power back and admits that he will shoulder all the misery for everyone else, I actually felt he became a respectable character again. I felt like that is what he would eventually be forced to do anyways, it was nice to hear him admit it.

The animation great and the OST is astounding. Though just make sure not to fall down from one of the many, many, MANY plot holes.

What are examples of some of the plot holes? Sorry, I wasn't actually TOO interested in how the plot played out, I was more interested in the character development.
Also, what should I watch next? I kinda want something light and comedic, with some nice romance. I like doing the whole light- heavy- light- heavy when I watch animes, gives me time to mend a sore heart and watching crushed love.
I also tried to watch Code Geass... I stopped. Don't like the main character at all. Or any of the supporting characters.

Ah, i see what you mean. It's not realistic in any fashion. Most fantasy animes and shows aren't :P
When you said holes, I thought you meant loose ends in the plot.

I watched it for the animation and the art. The plot itself felt more like fanfiction. Some parts were interesting, at least.

There are tons and several of the ones in the link are 'loose ends'. Heck, the entire ending is a ass pull plot hole.
