I stick so adamantly by the no sub or box pay and I don't even know why. Fear of spending money and being let down I guess? I hate open world PvP even tho when FFXI was in it's glory days I was antagoniser for it's implement. Didn't know back then I would hate Open PvP. Didn't know back then I would hate Themeparks one day. But gawd do I love to role play with friends. I want to do TERA but not until it is truly out there for free. Wonder how high I'll be able to get the graphics and still move about freely? Don't kno if I'll like TERA. I loved Rift when everyone else didn't tho I left as it got boring. Try and see I guess.

  I think thats another problem the game has. Its really taxing and not everyone can play it.

  Sign up and you'll start with a "Discovery Account", free until lvl 28. Limitations are no Social Functions (so only one chat option, no bank, can't add friends, join guilds and a few more minor things). Still allows you to enjoy the game and gives a good taste of what it has to offer, I think the characters carry through when you either buy it or the when the F2P patch arrives.

I just cannot stand spending 15 minutes fighting a bam or something and then someone comes and starts poking at me from behind. Also I'm almost always alone since I tend to be a solo person most of the time and really enjoy being in zen mode.
  
  How-can-I-take-it-easy-if-someone-can-attack-me-at-any-time. Can't even afk somewhere unless its in town. I don't wanna have my crystals break.
  
  That said, I can see such things are largely based on preference. Also I'd probably enjoy PvP servers a lot more if PvP in Tera wasn't such bull shit.

  Tera doesn't really offer much to help in role playing... at least not as much as Mabinogi or GW2 does. Not saying you can't, but the medium is a little less open for it, I guess.

  I have no problem with that, it's just that people are such tremendous dickbags in personality. They turn it into an virtual phallus contest and everyone's always mad as fuck and quick to be hostile at anything they can. The system itself isn't the problem, the problem is that people won't calm the fuck down and not act bitchy and passive aggressive 24/7 just because lolanonymous. It really sucks the fun out of a game like this. Even in competitive shooters it's unfun, but on an MMO? Yeah.

  Danger was actually the appeal to me. That part is fun, and why I love playing "dangerous" games. Just going for a more arcade-like, engaged feeling than the zen feeling you're speaking of.

  I've dealt with some of the worst communities in gaming. CBT PvP in TERA probably just about takes the cake. Then again, I play games that are made to be competitive. MMO players may have different things going on in their minds than FPS, RTS, TPS, or (whatever) competitive players.

  They need to not optimize it like shit. There is no reason people should be getting the framerate they are.
