Playing a kai, I've heard that explosive/maelstrom is the best combination for bows. I suppose kai doesn't really utilize attack speed much. However, both of these have pretty low success and high break rates.
Considering I don't want to dish out 8900NX on enchant runes, are there non-9+ enchants that would be good to use? I am also greatly considering switching to crossgun when those come out, so so would attspeed more important?

I'm not aware of Crossgun's interaction with attack speed, so I can't comment on that. I highly doubt it'll be too crucial though as the firerate is already really fast and the skill animations may or may not be sped up.
Anyways, rA and lower enchants.
PREFIX
Impending
+320 Att, -1 Attack Speed
Gallant
+180 Att, +1 Attack Speed
SUFFIX
Yeti
+100 Att
Valor
+5 Balance, +4 Attack Speed, +130 Att
Bloodlust
+3 Balance, +5 Attack Speed, +150 Att
Those are the generally used rA Prefix/Suffix. Other possible prefixes for less Att (aka I don't suggest them on Bow Kai) are Nimble and Prideful.
For the prefix, Impending is probably the best, but it cost about 10 times as much as Gallant on East (10-20m versus 1-2m respectively). For the suffix, Valor and Bloodlust usually go for around 20m-25m from what I've seen. Bloodlust usually costs a bit more, but both are close enough in stats that they're interchangeable. Yeti is dirt cheap at like a couple hundred thousand, which is why I put it there.
I'd go for Impending Valor myself. But Gallant Yeti is a great cheap setup if you're not sitting on a few million.
Just you are losing almost 1.5k Att versus someone with E/M, so be prepared for that.

I understand that I miss out on a lot of stats from E/M. They are some of the strongest enchants available. I just couldn't stand the thought of blowing up an item I worked my butt off to get. Perhaps enchant runes in the future but something to hold me over til then. Thx for the tips.

You'd still need to enhance the weapons past +10 for it to be actually decent though, so you might want to put off the r9 enchanting till you're able to do that.

A +10 60 is workable for quite a while, you should be able to break 13k with a +10 60 and I/V.
You really only need to go beyond +10 if you plan to use a Lv. 60 weapon into S2 70-80, and it'll be smarter to wait until S2E2 so you can just make a +10 70 instead. I mean it's something to aspire to, sure. But buying multiple +10 weapons (for like 70m each) or buying +0 weapons and +10ing them with NX are both very costly and not something I think is very affordable.
If you're using a 70 or 80 weapon, +10 is completely workable.

Yes 13k attack until you reach the newer raids is acceptable, that's why I only said to wait for the enhancement level for r9 enchants.
A maelstrom or two should cover for the +10s unless you intend on going past +12, unless prices raised that much after the S2 update. If you're going to get endgame enchants, might as well get a good enough enhance level before putting them on to save future enhancement frustration.

Ah I misread that.
Well you'd still break 14k with an E/M +10 60 Bow. Which would get you through if you really wanted.

Oh hey Invertex, I saw some stats for crossguns and they've got balance numbers in the 60s. Would Dominance be a good enchant to replace Valor? I can't find anything on an actual proc rate other than "it's good on staff evie". =/
With the high fire rate on crossguns would Dominance have decent uptime perhaps? That could really solve the balance issue.

No experience with Dominance myself, I always run Maelstrom.
But 60 Balance is workable, a lot of weapon classes are at that region (Hammers and Scythes are the first to come to mind), so I wouldn't worry too much about it.
I don't have the exact numbers, but the rule of thumb is that supporting stats (Speed, Critical, Balance) are only more important than attack once you reach the higher end of the 10k Att spectrum. With very few specific exceptions (Current Scythe's speed dump, Lann's crit dump). Up until Att - Boss Def is like 7k-8k, more Att will usually beat out more Bal/Crit/AS.
That's also why that despite "Dominance being good on Staff Evie", and the go to 60 Staff only having 58 Bal, people still usually run Divine Punishment over Dominance.
And considering Dragons sit at like 9k, Lakoria at 12k, Kraken head at 15k, it's a very logical thing to do. I think Dominance is glitched right now (think, key word) so it won't blow up your item, but it is a r9 scroll and you might as well just go for Maelstrom once that opens up.

I was more wondering if it's a suitable replacement for valor. I've read that dominance and a few other r9+ scrolls don't actually break equips. Weighing the two:
Valor:
Balance +5
Attack Speed +4
ATT +130 -130=0
Dominance:
ATT +150-130=20
While attacking, Balance +30 and +2 Stamina per sec for 60 sec Requires Level 70 or above.
So it comes out to 5 balance and 4 speed vs. 20ATT, and the proc.

I can't confirm or deny that Dominance doesn't break weapons, nor can I really say much about it's proc rate.
Feel free to try it, but I can't exactly say how it'll go.
