lol, closet pokemon fans :P
I remember one day back in high school, I finished my final exam early, so I whipped out my DS and started playing Diamond, this one "gangster" guy starts looking over my shoulder and whispers to me "holy crap man, where'd you catch cerebii?, I'll trade you an entei for it"
my face at that time cannot be described by words or pictures...

I played the game pokemon on the original gameboy in my last year of elementary. I didn't even really know what it was back then. Then I got to highschool and some cards started showing up in stores and a friend got some so then the rest of us got some. Then one day we saw the anime for it and got addicted to it. Good old indigo league season. It went down hill after the indigo league :< 151 pokemon was good enough for me.

You know, gangsters likes pokemon too :D.
Funny how, here... Having a DS makes you look like a little kid or something, but having a psp is cool.

Oh, and on the topic of my point earlier:
[Image: http://www.halolz.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/halolz-dot-com-pokemon-starterpokemoncomic.gif]
Back on topic: Pokemon's old. The games are aimed at the new generation of young'ins now. The first generation was targeted at the kids of '96. The current generations, featuring a rabbit modeled after the Playboy bunny, and a couple of gears with smiley faces, is aimed at the current generation.
Dragon Quest Monsters > Pokemon anyway.

And yet, most gamers that play handheld games will tell you that the DS has better games. It's kinda sad since sony tried to push it early on as the DS killer, but it ended up being a fad that was more or less forgotten.
I'm not saying that I don't like Sony. I love playing all my old PS2 games and I still play some of the new PS3 games that come out, but the PSP never really seemed that interesting to me, especially since most of the games were usually watered down versions of the console games.

LOL! Each Grass Pokemon in the above comic just gets uglier by the generation. haha
But you need to realize that the art changes over years. If Pokemon still looked the same as the First Gen every generation, I would shoot myself. I like change. Same old gets boring after awhile.

I can relate to the OP's image. A lot of people in my high school wouldn't be caught dead playing pokemanz, but I particularly know a lot of people who play it but just don't tell many people.

I agree. Plus, in-universe it makes sense for one region's species to be different from another. It's pretty much like that in real life, but to to a larger scale...
