My dad who's from rural China says that does happen sometimes.
If you ever want to adopt a daughter, there's a ton in China.

I understand, it's just he was technically "created" in the lab. He wasn't "created" in the bed like most kids are.

Anyway, it's been my experience that girls take better care of their elderly parents than their brothers, especially if they were educated. Might be my narrow view of Hong Kong, though.

Yes that's true, although the practice was much more prevalent with rural families. In a way it makes sense since a boy would be much more useful in the fields and by tradition, a man will stay with his parents while his wife moves into his family, to go the other way around was considered unusual and "un-manly" if you will. China did put in a good effort to try to dissuade the practice of rejecting female babies after implementing the one child policy though.
