“Tragically, we believe this was a case of mistaken identity by the officers,†said Beck.
Jonas finds that hard to believe.
“The vehicle is a different color. The license plate doesn’t match. There’s nothing there for you to start shooting people. And even if they had the person in question… Mr. Dorner…you still have to give them an opportunity to get out. You can’t just start administering street justice,†said Jonas.
Yeah the police guy here should be charged with assault with deadly weapon right here and now.

I'm hearing a lot of rumors about this. This is just as bad as him shooting innocent people.
I'm pretty sure the use of arson against other human being is not only unauthorized for police, but also against the geneva convention in acts of war. If we can't protect our own citizens, guilty or not, of their basic human rights, how are we living in a "free" country?

hardly not
he lost everything by killing and running
and assigning politics to his targets
and then put himself in a position where he killed police officers that were trying to get him a trial.
instead of other alternatives

They burned the house he was in down.
And next to his charred corpse, they found his plastic ID? Really?
Next they're gonna say they found a paper note on him that reads "I AM CHRISTOPHER DORNER & YOU GOT ME. GOOD WORK LAPD. I REGRET EVERYTHING. I FORGIVE THE LAPD. LAPD DID NOTHING WRONG."

In terms of journalism, you're not going to get accurate news until like 1-2 weeks or a month after an event happens

Maybe, but nothing wrong with a bit speculation base on what we've got.

it's not maybe
it's how journalism works.
no one has the information within the first couple days.

That's how "ideal" journalism works. And it's never ideal.

Actually, isn't it more "realistic" journalism than "ideal"?
Ideal journalism would be more like getting all the information straight asap.
