According to this I need 3.60cm Garnets to match [7] Signs for each feeding. I doubt I'll find any of those for under 4k (cost of signs).

Don't understand why people like jewels, they're easy to carry but that's about it.

A gem of any size always satiate one hunger level, so they're pretty good to have around in case you afk for too long and your ego gets to a very low happiness level. That's how I use my small gems at least.

You can also get them for free and sell them. Better ego growth and a couple thousand extra gold per gem...

They'd be good for dungeons/missions I guess, since they're easy to carry. But if you're just afk starving your ego - pet instructor sticks are like what, 100 gold? Extra couple clicks to save a couple thousand is worth it to me.
