Okay, so this problem has been plaguing me for a while now, and i've posted a few threads with no conclusion. So i'm going to try and be as detailed as I can be and cover every aspect, keeping in mind that i'm not really too great with computers. It's kinda frustrating having to restart your computer three times in a row twice a day every day you play Mabi.
The problem:
Randomly, while playing Mabi, my client will crash. This can mean a variety of things:
A) The client screen will freeze in place, and next to the "Mabinogi" text in the top left hand corner of the window, "(Not Responding) will appear. I can still use other computer functions as normal, except for Mabinogi will crash. Upon exiting the client either through the red X or task manager, there will be a period of about 1-2 minutes where my computer will operate as normal and then it will instantly black-screen and restart.
B) The entire screen will slow down to about 1 frame every two seconds. All commands will become unresponsive except for moving the mouse. The client screen is frozen, and nothing can be done except for re-starting the computer. The sound will slow down until it's like 20 bpm and it sounds horrible and distorted.
C) The screen will go black instantly and the sound will speed up until all that I can hear is a loud bunch of staccato notes played back to back. The computer will automatically restart.
D) This one is the rarest, but sometimes a pop-up message will come up saying that "Mabinogi has crashed blah blah submit ticket blah blah". My computer will not crash, nothing will stop working, and i'm free to reboot Mabi normally. This probably happens 1/50 crashes or so.
These crashes occur randomly with no identifiable stimulus. I can't recreate the crashes - they'll just occur mid-mission or mid-commerce randomly. It's not more likely to happen when loading an area or anything like that, as far as I can tell it's completely random.
As far as I can tell, these crashes appear to happen once an hour on average. That's a pure statistic: It doesn't happen every hour on the dot (For example, it may crash 3 times back to back then be fine for the rest of the night or something).
What I think the issue is:
I have a very limited knowledge of computers, but I think it's something to do with the "Bugtrap" thing, whatever that is. For example, when I close Mabi normally, nothing happens because the Bugtrap closes normally. When I get the pop-up crash, it says that there's a problem with the client/excecutable, not the bugtrap thing, so it closes normally. That's all I can speculate, sorry.
What i've tried doing:
I've disabled nagle. I'm not sure if that has any effect, but I thought i'd put it down.
I've updated my video drivers.
I've updated Java. (Not sure if those two have any effect).
I've tried fiddling with the amount of RAM that I use. For example, only playing with Mabi open, then playing with Mabi and Chrome open, then playing with Mabi, Chrome and Skype open, etc. This has no effect on the crashes, just my latency while playing Mabi.
I don't believe it's related to overheating. While my laptop can start putting out some seriously hot heat from the fan vent thingy if it's been on for a while, it can crash after booting it up overnight.
I've done a disk cleanup/defrag/etc.
What I haven't done (That I think might have an effect on the issue)
I haven't installed any mods. None. Nothing. Period. I don't want to use mods.
I haven't adjusted the graphics settings in the options menu as I don't understand anything and don't want to fiddle with it because of that.
Notes:
I play in windowed mode.
I have 679 GB of space on my HDD. 611 GB is free.
I have 6 GB of RAM. (5.9 GB usable).
My processor is a Intel Core i7-2670QM @ 2.20 GHz.
My computer runs on Windows 7 and is 64 bit.
Thank you very much for your help in advance, i'll rep if and when I can. I just want this issue fixed, honestly. If you need any additional information, please let me know.

Graphic Card issues? Like I had the same issue awhile because I have a shit graphic card. I didn't get a new one but it stops doing it so I don't really know.
And you should post it on computer forums instead of Here, you'd get better responses

I know nothing about graphics cards whatsoever.

I'm not a member of a computer forum, and I doubt they'd know what Mabi is.

It's not like you'll be cursed if you join one. All games has similar thingys to function properly. Try it anyways

Hmm.. I crash quite often, but not to this extent. What I'm worried most about is the fact that your computer actually shuts itself down, so it can't be mabi alone(as far as I'm aware).
Pretty much anything I could suggest you seem to have already tried. It COULD be something to do with the hardware, like the video card overheating. Even so, I've seen far crappier laptops run mabi just fine.
Just as a test, you should try playing in a smaller window with the worst possible graphics settings(I know you said you haven't fiddled with it, but it might help) and nothing else running on the laptop. Oh and maybe just trying to update the video card drivers once more, because that can be really common. What video card do you have by the way?

You may want to try updating your drivers, make sure it's all up to date and stuff.
You could also make sure Mabi is at the right resolution for your screen. (though this will have the smallest of impacts)
You were very detailed with your problem and I thank you for that, the only thing I can think of is outdated drivers.
Even though you said you don't think it's a overheating problem, you might wanna try getting a can of compressed air and clean any dust inside your lab top. (there are also programs you should get to check your computers temperture GPU should never go above 70c and make sure your CPU never goes above 60)

I hope something I said has helped you. ^^

Not sure how to check what video card I have.

It should be, it's at the default.
I'll try cleaning out my laptop a little bit later and see if it helps (Can't really do anything before uni).

Hm... You may have to re-install mabi. It sounds like the patcher screwed one of your packfiles and it's not closing properly from your memory.
The other solution is mods, just the graphically reducing ones, however other people have to help you privately outside the forums for that.

This has been happening for a really long time. I could try re-installing Mabi, although i'm not sure how i'd go about cleaning it right off.

I'm honestly not convinced these things are safe and legit, and I doubt I ever will be.

I suggest making a new folder like C:\nexon2\mabinogi
to place your new mabi install there~
Let me know how it goes.

Sure thing, thanksies. It won't reset all my hotkeys and everything, those are all server-side right?

Should be.
