How do people do it? I'm failing 1 of my classes and may fail another, because I can't seem to get this very well. If I focus on my girlfriend and home life, my grades slip. If I focus on my grades, my home life slips, the house becomes horribly dirty and the apartment owner's yell at me, and after they leave my girlfriend yells too. I gave up a ton of my video game time, and I'm trying my best in classes, but its difficult.
It probably doesn't help that that it was only at the end of last year that I did incredibly well in school. After I moved out on my own, my grades plummeted from high B's and A's to low C's. It's just so, difficult. Every single thing I did while living at home became harder. Walking 3 miles a day to school is not too bad, and now that it has warmed up it is easier, but I missed at least 4 days off and on from the snowstorms due to the roads being clear but the sidewalks not being clear and me not wanting to walk down the middle of heavy downtown traffic.
I still am only halfway through the semester. I think my grades are salvageable. Now to figure out a way to boost my relationship. I think she is angry at me for breaking my promise to get only healthy food and getting a 2 liter of soda along with the nice juices and healthy breads. I thought it would be a nice present for Easter though...

You should put more priority on your grades than your girlfriend. GPA stays with you for a long time. Your girlfriend may or may not stay with you for a long time.
Then again, you should probably just stop wasting time by visiting Mabination if you are such a busy person. You visit here, and time will just fly by instantly.

Agreed. Your education is your future, if you're girlfriend really cared about you shed understand your situation and would help.

Everyone faces mental obstacles and unexpected events when it comes to school.
It's the matter of how fast you can get everything together. If you need help, get help.
Higher education sites often have many resources like tutoring centers, peer tutoring etc.

You're lacking efficiency. Mismanagement of time or poor scheduling. There is no reason why you can't deal with school and have fun with your girlfriend/videogames together.
Unless you are packing in as much extra curricular activities and AP courses at once. Just lighten to load where it doesn't matter. Don't need to do time consuming activities if you don't like it. Don't need to take AP psychology if you don't want to do psychology. People put too much on their load and it stresses them out. Not healthy. Your mental health and enjoyment of life is just as important as your education.

My only advice is to not bite more than you can handle.

If you find yourself getting distracted, remove those distraction.
I for one isolated myself in a busy library without internet with other people studying. If you need the internet to do an assignment, you'd feel like an idiot dicking around while other people are hard at work.

^This actually worked for me, but mostly because I prefer instrumental music to begin with. If you find it hard to focus don't use the music. (Was able to study and score on 6-8 chapters of multivariable calculus in 2 day sitting)

I think its poor scheduling. I never really had good scheduling to begin with, and moving out threw everything out of balance. I'm going to start doing my old method again, which was make a list using that note thing that stays on my desktop with due dates for projects. Every time I would go to my desktop to open a program or when internet browser crashed or something, i would see it and be reminded.
I have a lot more to do since I moved in with my girlfriend to our own apartment, but I just need some more focus to be successful now i think.
